  • I have about 25 - 40 instances of ConfigAutoDownlad.exe running on my Cirrus server which shoots CPU usage to 100%. About to open a ticket with SW.
  • Thanks for the answer on this one guys. "snmp-server trap-source" command did the trick. Thanks again!
  • qle, Thanks for your suggestion, as always! I had thought of that, but it would get pretty messy. This core switch is one of our main nodes and is involved in a ton of the reports and alerts that i have configured. I had added in the node a second time and you are right, I was getting my syslog from the 172 IP and I was…
  • This summary page looks great! I would really like to display it on our Orion setup. I am having trouble setting it up though. Added the legacyproxy.config lines, and moved the oher files to the proper directories, but I do not see any new resources available to add to my web views. I am looking under the summary tab, and…
  • I would also like a tip on how to make the report appear as filipv describes. I am able to create a report that shows the value of two custom pollers, however, the structure looks like this: NodeName Custom Poller Status A NodeName Custom Poller Status B Nodename Custom Poller Status A NodeName Custom Poller Status B It…
  • Hey I hope this helps but here is how mine is set up and it works fine. I think you are adding the wrong resource. (Last xx Syslog). What you might want to try , if you havent already, is: Admin - manage views - node deatils. Remove your last xx syslog resource. Click on the +. Add the following resource : Under Node…
  • I am running into the same problem. Orion is our syslog server. I have a core switch with multiple IPs. It sends its syslog stuff over VLAN1 which ahs a 172.x.x.x IP. It sends it traps to Orion using GI0/0 which has a 10.x.x.x IP. The switch was discovered using its 172 IP and has no problme displaying, or filtering for…
  • I am also having trouble with RTCD. I had it working for about a week, but now I get no email when I make a config change. We are 100% cisco. I am also setting this up based off of snmp traps, not syslog. I had it working by setting up my trap rule according to a suggestion from a thwck user in another forum regarding the…
  • oh boy,.. I made a typo in my previous post. Should read: Filter results - poller name contains "APC". That will give you results for all your APC pollers, as long as you renamed them properly. My previous post would have only given results for that one particular poller (APC_example.) Sorry for the confusion.
  • The upgrade should not take long at all. If it goes oever an hour, I would suspect something is wrong. A few things to take note of that I ran into and would not want others to hit: Turn all alerts Off before upgrading. The reason being, If an alert is active, and the services get stopped, when the services come back, they…
  •  The new NCM web console is part of v5.0, and it will be FREE to every Cirrus customer with current maintenance. Denny, I believe the entire Cirrus community is breathing a collective sigh of relief. Thanks for the clarification and cant wait till 9/29 to implement.
  • If you are intentionally working on a node and need to reboot, but do not what the reboot alert, you could simply unmanage the node in Orions system manager, or if your using V9, a node can be unmanaged from the website. Once unmanaged, it will not trigger any alerts, then simply manage the node once work has been…
  • Works great!!! All praise GOB!!!!
  • Gob,.. your custom works are incredible. I am having a bit of trouble with this one though. I get the resource displayed, and when I go to edit it, only 2 of my custom pollers are present in the drop down window. I have abou 25 custom pollers for a varietly of devices. Any feedback?
  • Where is this edited screenshot?
  • Awesome! Works great. This is some really good custom creation insde of Orion. Thanks Gob!!!
  • How about a description or something
  • I would suggest changing Description to status. You want the email to fire offf when the status of your custom poller changes. hope that helps
  • I have not tried this, but it should work. Forgive me if some terms I use are not industry standards, as I am by no means a SQL or database guy. If you go into your NetPerfMon database, and pull up the table that has volume size, you should be albe to alter it to whatever size you want. Rememebr to click read and write…
  • The report may not look exactly how you want, but this should get the stats you are interested in, on one report: Rename the 2 custom pollers something unique and something they each share( If this is Voip, have each Custom poller have the word 'Viop' in it.) Select Fileds: Node Name IP Address Poller Name Status Filter…
  • What a horror story. We had 2 hour window of Down Time when we could upgrade from 8.5.1. First off, the customer portal had initailly posted Orion 9.0 SLX. So I DLed it and installed. Tried to license and got an error. I return to the customer portal and notice that the SLX version has been replaced with SL2000. Fine. I DL…
  • Here is what I had to do to get my APC enviro report to work. I had to change the names of the pollers so they all started with the same thing, (APC_example). Then I created a report for current node status. Select Feilds - Node Name - sort ascending, vendor icon, Poller Name, status. Filter Results - Poller Name contains…
  • IM getting this error: any ideas,.. I am by no means a SQL guy. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Error converting data type varchar to numeric. at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception,…
  • Gob,.. you're custom works are incredible to say the least. However, I am having a problem with this one. I have created a new view called advanced Syslog. Under "Manage Views", I created this, and added the resource's that you described. (Advanced Syslog Summary, Syslog counts, Adv. Syslog Parser, etc.) When I preview…
  • Quite the quacklesnapp you got there. (technical term) May I suggest opening the control panel on the server Orion is installed on, going into add / remove programs, and running a repair. Good luck.
  • I guess hitting the "search" button is too much work for some?
