Ran into an issue, First step, download the software. https://orion.sccompanies.com/sapi/installer/get I get a 404 not found. What is the file name so I can pull it from the server or at least search for it.
-
Just ran across this myself. Was trying to figure out WHY my C drive had 5 Gb free when Windows was only 17Gb. Found the hidden ProgramData folder with all these lovely log files. Would like to log to D drive instead.

Using AWS for the web server is misleading. Doing a google for Orion and AWS returns this thread. I was searching for Amazon Web Services AKA AWS. Had my hopes up that there was an AWS API agent.
-
Found it right where you said. Apparently the web interface was not created during the upgrades.
-
Just curious if NPM can monitor the Firepower appliances. We skipped going with the built in Firepower module because of a bug, a rather big one, that if the module fails, it fails closed only, will not fail open.
-
Same results. Appears that it was never installed on this server. What is the installer file name, I can run a file search to see if it actually exists. I don't see sapi in IIS, hence the 404.
-
We have several of these, and no way to monitor! Please add!
-
One other thing to add would be to be able to check for expiring certificates on the NS.
-
This is also something we are looking for and will most likely be the deciding factor on whether we purchase SAM or not. Datadawg is already doing this.
-
We purchased a full license for SAM and use it to monitor both on prem and AWS now. It is still a work in progress for the Applications, but we are working through it.
-
Will be more useful when I can figure out how to make it a NOC view! Looks like a useful tool to throw up on a screen to show status of key critical nodes over a set time frame. Oh and the other goodies it has too.
-
This is something we have been looking for. Hopefully it meets our needs. Tags will be useful as well since we use them to distinguish department and who to present the bills to! LOL Speaking of bills, is there a cost management that will be part of this so we could determine what each instance is running up?
-
I don't remember the bug, but it is all versions, or was at the time. The thing is if it fails open, the firewall is still secure, you just lose IPS for the time the module reloads, where if it fails closed, then all users lose internet, and imagine the chaos of 1500 users crying over no internet.
-
Well that went remarkably smooth! Other than the NPM service not starting, which is normal on this box for some reason, it takes forever to stop and restart it, everything went smooth, and it is working fine.
-
Got it, Thanks.

I was looking to upgrade, but the only thing I can download it the SolarWinds-Orion-v9-SLX.zip package, Is there somehting I need to do before I can download it? My maintenance is good until 12/24/2009.
-
I did, actually just received the email to do some diagnostics. Thanks.

I ran into the same thing, still upgrading now, but had me frustrated to no end. Finally a reboot solved it. Addendum: The install went OK, had a few glitches with VOIP monitor, but after I figured out that part, the rest of the install went smooth, no crashes, no unusual abnormalities, and I noticed the web front speed…

I moved everything to a new server, so now it is working, but I need assistance with the licensing and removing the pollers. The new server has a different name. 297965

I upgraded to version 9 and just discovered this is still there. Shouldn't this have been removed with the ver 9 install?
-
That is what I found. I had either checked it, or it got checked when upgraded. Once I discovered that, then it all fell into place that is was working properly. I had to kill the job, disable it, then re-enable it, after that it started to run properly. Thats what the issue was, just took me a while to figure out why only…

It is checked. Still not working correctly. Very slow to bring up pages. I can bring up the top 10 list and other pages, but the default home page, even removing everything, times out. I changed my login to use the top 10 view as my home page and I can login and see it, but it is very slow. Maybe this might help, as I have…

OK, Don't the techs read the actual emails? I responded back saying, it still isnt working and I did everything listed on this thread(the one in the link above), and they responded back saying, do everything thing in these steps, which were the same steps I did in the link above. 3 TIMES! argh.now my forehead is bruised

You can add another one to adding a tie in to Cisco ACS, we are trying to use that for everything.
-
Darn. One of the issues we have, when a node and interfaces are added through the web interface, they dont get checked as active under alerts. They get added, but not activated.
-
I have a case opened and sent the diagnostic file this morning. The last response I got the other day was to reinstall it. We are building a VM server now to install it on, and will most likely need to get the licensing reissued.
-
OK Something is up, it no longer works after a recent MS update, even with the host file. I can't get the service to start.

I have SP3 installed. The issue I am having is timeouts. I drilled through IIS and I do see that the page is there, 10.15.1.54/.../SummaryView.aspx Orion Website Error An error has occurred with the Orion website. Additional Information System.Web.HttpException: Request timed out. Thats all I get. In addition if I am on…

I had the same problem trying to get the service to start if my machine was being NATted, if I put a public IP on it, the service would start. I added 127.0.0.1 CRL.THAWTE.COM as suggested and it worked fine. Thanks for the suggestion, I can save my hair now.
