SQL Sentry

Fragmentation from Monitored Instance

A fragmentation alert is available in the GitHub repository, but it assumes SQL Sentry is already collecting fragmentation data—which is not enabled by default. This alert queries the monitored target directly to gather similar information and triggers when an object exceeds 30% fragmentation.

To create this alert:

Download the text file attached to this article
Rename it to change the .txt extension to .condition
Open the Conditions List in SQL Sentry (under All Targets > Advisory Conditions)
Use File > Import Condition to load it into SQL Sentry
Edit as necessary
