should have read the comments before answering. Please stop with the fill in the blank answers. Even copying and pasting the answer leaves you wrong too often.

Was asked by my manager to come up with a title for myself once. He rejected my idea of, "Supreme Universal Provider and Purveyor Of Resources and Technology (S.U.P.P.OR.T). Something about it not fitting with HR guidelines.

Someone got a promotion once because of work I did to save his project, even though he was on a different team. A lot of people got mad about that one. Strangely, I was one of the more calm people about it.

Correct link for today's question. GDPR – What is it and how can SolarWinds help?

This was fun. When do we get to see everyone's submissions? I agree with doberhol, let's get a voting contest on the best submissions.

I agree fully. There is a corollary to taking responsibility, it is not taking credit where it isn't deserved. I find that the best way to build team morale is to make sure that whoever deserves the credit, receives it.

Enjoyed the article. Where I work one of our core values is "Collaboration is Key". Unfortunately it is the one that is violated the most. It has come to the point that every time I see or hear it, I'm reminded of the Princess Bride, when Inigo Montoya turns to Vizzini and says, "You keep using that word. I do not think it…

Originally started in Biology, and began working towards my PhD. A year in, I realized, it wasn't for me. Spoke to some schools about their Medical Physics programs, these are the guys that run cat-scan machines, MRI machines, etc. Schools said they liked my bio background, but I needed to get some computer science courses…

I received an X too after completing the survey. Don't use survey completed either.

If you solemnly swear that you are up to no good, the answer will be revealed to you.

Just saw this course offering now, and I can't attend on the 12th. Will this course be recorded to view later? Offered again soon?

Unfortunately, I don't seem to have Dell listed as an option in the subscription tab. It may only appear once I import it once into the system.
-
In general, yes. I end up creating a single group in SCCM with all 3 patches, and then I deploy it based on OS.
-
Sorry. Thought I did.

Can you post the link here?

Thanks! I found the site to download the catalog from, once they release it, but it is password protected. Will need to contact our Dell rep about access

Is this true even in a slight version difference? I'm getting the same error when the WSUS Server API we are running is version 6.3.9600.18324 and the client is 6.3.9600.17477. How would I update the client in this case?

Thanks. That's what I needed!

anyone know what was wrong with Java 8u151 that Oracle rushed to release 152 today?
-
Figured out the issue. Problem was a permission settings on the download folder.

I've been spending a lot of time over the past few days dealing with this. We aren't an HP shop so I can't comment on that, but here is what I can say. We are handling OS updates with our regular patch cycle, just with more vigorous testing to ensure there are no surprises. * Make sure your AV sets the registry if you want…

Thanks guys. If we upgrade the Solarwinds PM server to Win 2016, do we still need the automation server on the WSUS box?
-
What was your solution? I'm having the exact same issue. Thanks.

Once they were visible in the 3rd party software group it still took a couple of hours for SCCM to fully realize they were there. I then had to create a software update group with the updates, and then deploy them. Wasn't able to deploy them directly from the software list.
-
With 7-Zip I wasn't able to, it seems that for some reason SCCM didn't like 7-Zip's certificate. I downloaded via the SolarWinds Patch Manager, and then SCCM was able to use it. For the Adobe products I signed up as a volume distributor, this is free, to access the patches. dang posted a link earlier in the post. Java…

Thanks everyone. I think I finally got this sorted and working. Couldn't have done it without all your help. Is there a way to mark multiple people correct? You all helped in some fashion.

Update: I've made some progress with this. I can download updates using the patch manager and then deploy them using SCCM, but I can't download them directly from SCCM using the plug-in. Is there some setting that needs to be enabled in SCCM to allow this?
