Hey @"dllock", same thing happened to us! I have a script that accesses a XML file on a remote machine (but instead of using a UNC path like yours does, ours accesses it via the admin share path, but still, same thing pretty much). As soon as we upgraded, it stopped working. Nothing changed in the script or on the monitor,…

Yes, they already have this ability in their SAM application components and they recently added it to Node thresholds (like CPU, Memory, etc...). They're also rolling it out to Volume and Interface thresholds as well, so hopefully yeah, they bring it to SRM. I wouldn't be too hopeful that it will be coming soon though,…

I'm really liking the new maps, but we desperately need more options with the look and feel of the lines that connect objects on the map. Not only do we need to be able to control more about how they look and feel (for instance I hate how thick they are), we also need to be able to move the label on the lines and control…

Wow denmedic, That is an exceptionally good idea regarding the app template idea on maps. I really like that.

Anyone, maybe a SolarWinds employee that has some access to the question here? Maybe bmrad or omri can answer this or access someone in SolarWinds who can? Thanks

I'm totally with you cfizz34. I've been messing with them and I really am struggling on how to reproduce a lot of what they've done in their samples. It seems like one of those things that will be easy once you understand it, but until then it seems really complicated. Kind of like when Custom Tables and Custom Charts came…

Now just add Dark Theme and all of my Orion wishes will have been granted when it comes to the UI. This is seriously fantastic and, once Dark Mode is implemented, will rival Dynatrace in pretty dashboards.

I just realized that when I posted the comment below, I accidentally put it in your perfstack API post, not here in your Perfstack Powershell post... Duh. Anyways, I'll paste it here so that it actually makes sense now: Really great stuff man. Impressive. I'm trying to use your New-SWSession function and I keep getting the…

Jesus man, I'm going through this right now and I can't tell you how much I appreciate this article. It used to be so simple to delete polling engines, but you are right. Now it is a nightmare. We own every Orion module, so unfortunately just clicking Delete Unused Polling Engine under the Polling Engines section just…

Fantastic stuff wluther! Our biggest gripe with Perfstack has been the inability to access it from anywhere other than in the analysis dashboard. This fixes that. I'm also getting ready to dig in to sstark85's stuff you linked as I love anything to do with Powershell. Thanks so much for this!

Here's a different example. This is a VLAN interface that shows a speed of 10Gb and maintains an average receive utilization of 25%, yet the Real-time Chart keeps showing spikes of 2,500%... It's almost like it's multiplying the actual utilization by 1,000 when reporting the data. What gives?

Hi, so I think SolarWinds really left out a ton of features when moving from the VMAN Appliance to Orion VMAN. I'm surprised that similar functionality wasn't brought in to Orion before releasing Orion VMAN in GA form... The same thing happened when STM was moved into Orion SRM. Yes, there are some new features of Orion…

I know this is an old post, but I just came across it looking for something else and really liked the way you simplified the script by making easy little functions. It's the exact opposite way I make my scripts. Mine are complex and long. Mainly because I'm figuring out how to do it as I go. I was wondering though if you…

Hey, another question. Because the calendar always starts at January and ends on December, at the beginning of the year this won't allow for historical alert reporting, correct? Is there a way to make this more dynamic? Like, have the beginning of the calendar start 12 months prior to the current month maybe? So, if the…

Oops, I was editing my post to say this at the same time you were replying to me it seems. Thank you! I actually just found and downloaded this today, so I have the most current version. The bugged queries are still there I'm afraid. I did put a fixed version of the query in my comment above though, so people can…

Very Awesome! Definitely opened my eyes about what kinds of things you can do with just the Custom HTML resource. Thank you for sharing. EDIT: I figured it out on my own. Thought I'd share: The problem is in the SWQL Queries. In the WHERE clause you filter Month to equal the selected month and Day to equal the selected…

Well no, like I said, you can still get the template info. They just moved it from the NCM/Cirrus entity trees to a brand new Cli Entity tree. The entity that seems to be missing from SWQL completely now is the Connection Profile entity. I can't get the Connection Profile or username used by NCM devices from anywhere in…
-
I used to think this was true, but be careful. A ton of my NCM reports that relied on custom SWQL broke because they moved the device template info out of the NCM/Cirrus entity trees and into the CLI entity tree. Also, I used to be able to get connection profile and username info from the NCM/Cirrus entities and now…

Yes actually, that'd be awesome. Send me a DM with the details and we can work something out. Thanks!

I'm really nervous about the Custom Property Editor "improvements". Honestly, the current Custom Property Editor is really good and only needs a few tweaks to be amazing. Currently we can Group, Filter, Sort, and Search in the custom property editor. The only thing the current custom property editor needs to be amazing is…

Nice job. You may want to remove the limitation on the report though dnerdahl. Only my co-worker who imported your report could see it (because he was the owner). He was trying to show it to me and I couldn't even see it my report list because your report has a Report Limitation on it called "Drew's Reports". For those…

Really great stuff man. Impressive. I'm trying to use your New-SWSession function and I keep getting the error of: ERROR: New-SWSession : Exception setting "Name": "The 'Name'='Orion_IsSessionExp=' part of the cookie is invalid." Looking at the code for it I think there is an error in it. You create a new Cookie object,…

cobrien, What is this new Log Manager product you are referring to? LEM is definitely not new, so I don't think that's what you are referring to.
-
There is an easy workaround which is to export the report. Once you export the report the query should be in the xml somewhere. I think...

Thanks for the quick response cobrien. Great news on the Network Atlas upgrades. That product has so much potential but hasn't gotten love in so long. It's great to hear. The thing I always tell people in my company when they ask about mapping is that yes, I can probably create a map that meets their criteria, but that it…

* Next Generation Orion Mapping Is this an upgrade to Network Atlas? Please tell me it's an upgrade to Network Atlas. If so then the main thing I want is to be able to have links between objects change color based on interface utilization even when manually assigning the interfaces or even when only one interface is…

They went back in time to March 28th and started working on it for you. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-176930#start=50

I actually disagree wholeheartedly. I'm in the "No new Features, only fixes/improvements" camp. This release has some of that with the new Manage Nodes page, which is quite huge. Also, the major overhaul of installations and upgrades they are working on is also massive. Bottom line is SolarWinds can't win if you think…

Especially tedious if you have 9 Orion Modules, 7 Additional Polling Engines, 2 additional web servers, two VMAN servers (main VMAN server and a Collector), and a Netflow Storage DB. Pluuuuuuuus a whole other environment with two Additional Polling Engines and two VMAN servers... Yes, upgrades are a tedious process to say…

That sounds like an urgent case you have there mbird. Have you set the priority of your support call as "System Down", or at least "Urgent"? I'd say that is a System Down priority level because you have your APE down, which means no monitoring. If that's the case, you should be able to get faster help. I've found calling…
