Hi tlsorensen, We are working on removing TLS 1.0 in a future version. We are unable to talk specific time frames, but we are trying to address this as quickly as possible. My suggestion would be to contact support about TLS 1.0, so you can be put on the list to be contacted for a release candidate to help you get it…

@"OldSwiftJester" A few things: 1. If you are upgrading through the Hyper-V console try to use ssh instead 2. If that does not solve it then the best option would be to open up a support ticket. One cause may be the disk space where it is trying to upgrade needs to be cleared up. Support can dig in a further to see if…

Have you tried to do this? To enable TLS 1.2: * Open Kiwi Syslog Server Setup; * Select Inputs\Secure TCP; * Check “Listen for secure (TLS) TCP Syslog messages”; * Check “TLS 1.2”; (Multiple protocols can be selected at the same time) This link to help system is…

Long ago it was Postgressql, but it has not been Postgressql for almost 10 years. Postgressql is running if you are using flow data or if somehow you have flow data turned on. The backend is how Nicole describes it. The amount of data that goes into the database would consume the hard drive and would take time to pull out…

Hi ghayas, Oh! When license is expired no new nodes can be added. You will have to work with licensing and renewals if you previously had a license. If this was an eval you should work with Sales. After you do that you should work with support because if you see the ip address coming into the syslog files then we can work…

There is only 6.2.1 HF1 curtisi was mistaken. Also HF1 only has a few fixes in it mostly in relation to security items. It is good to be on the latest version though.

It should always be the system name as reported by the agent, but we are also reading from log files as well. Windows event log will stay consistent, but if you get outside reading other log files just sitting on the system then it may have what is in the log file. You can do an ndepth search (or filter) on an agent to see…

Also I wanted to note. There were fixes to make things better in 6.1 for backups. Specifically in 6.2 NTLMv2 support was added, so if you are encountereing some issues with NTLMv2 after upgrading to 6.2 then doing what curtisi has suggested will help to improve any NTLMv2 support that is currently there. Thanks.

Ok that looks like why it did not just update it. We will look over the case of a 5.7.0 RC agent that never moved to the final 5.7.0 version. Thanks for the information. Please let us know if there is anything else you encounter, and feel free to open a support case on any 6.0 issues you see.

It is an InstallAnywhere installer, so you can hold down the Ctrl key before it reaches 100% right after you click it. Then a command window will pop up saying what is happening in the background. Unfortunately there is no MSI installer. The silent installer from the link above is the closest to being able to use a way of…

Oh, missed that part. I have seen where someone clones a machine that has the agent installed and it shows up as the original machine. You could go to the ip address listed to see what that machine actually is called. Maybe it has the wrong name or somehow thinks it is a different machine. All else fails you can call…

There is unfortunately no way to set a proxy setting for the automatic connector updates right now. You can still download the connetor updates by hand and apply them following the instructions within the zip file http://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/Release/LEM/SolarWinds-LEM-Connectors.zip
-
Issue has been resolved. Automatic connector updates are working again. Thanks As always there is the manual way of doing connector updates if this ever happens and you really need those updates.
-
Actually hotfix6 did fix it, but in the past day all of the downloads have been changed to https. We are investigating what can be done to address it without creating another hotfix. Thanks

That would be a bad idea to copy those directly on the operating system and untested. Those files are stored in profiles specific to each person. Unfortunately the only way to do this for now is as was said import / export. I thought there was a thwack post somewhere for this idea that you could +1

If it is the same cert it will see it as the same system. If the clone comes online you would get duplicate connection messages in your console saying there was a duplicate agent connection that is happening. Well if you are trying to clear it out then you would do something similar to Include the LEM Agent in a Windows…

Yes this works. Multiple customers have this working after raising the buffer and using the ISE connector. If you are having trouble then I would suggest opening a support ticket. There was a point in time where this was not working and it turned out what was needed was an increase in the Cisco buffer that was sent. After…

The best course of action when you get unmatched data and something that you see as mismatched is to open up a support case. That is the only way to adjust things to cover unmatched data and something you see is being improperly placed in an event. Make sure that the mismatched part you are seeing is talked over with…

Yes. Both 6.2.0 hotfix1 and 6.2.0 hotfix2 were rolled up into 6.2.1. You can view the Release Notes here SolarWinds Log & Event Manager 6.2.1 Release Notes There were additional fixes for mounting shares and also a vulnerability fix as well.

Hi everyone, We have released a hotfix that addresses the following: * CVE-2015-7501: Deserialization vulnerability in the Apache Commons-Collections library * CVE-2015-3269: BlazeDS XML External Entity (XXE) vulnerability Slowloris is a pain because we are not using apache in the ways that have been mentioned in many…

Please do not mess with /usr/local that is why it is a hardened linux box / closed system. Best options if you are worried: 1. Make sure you are on the latest version of LEM. It does help things out to help auto-correct things. 2. the logs in /usr/local are typically growing because of the manager.log file. Did someone…

You can use just LDAP. You do not need to configure SSO. Make sure you are on 6.3.1 hotfix 2 since the groups now have a configurable name. Here is an article to follow. There is a newer article being made that will show the ability to change the groups in the hotfix Configure the LDAP connection for user log in -…

sdrago I would open up a support case. I am sure they will be able to help you out with your issue.
-
Interesting. In support they have not seen what you are seeing in relation to that specific case for setup. Disabling local accounts was for security reasons when you are fully setting up SSO. A warning is given about this before people click next on the final setup. They can be re-enabled.easily by turning back on local…

That is odd. It may be that your situation has something unique about it that has not been seen before. Curtis is correct it should not matter where it was placed. There were many reasons for the move to the different way of doing the LDAP portion of SSO. A lot of those reasons had to do with being about to support SSO…

One additional note. If this was a beta agent then that would have to be done by hand with an agent installer. Also if it was a beta agent you may need to uninstall the driver before updating to a 6.0 RC agent. Beta agents were supposed to be non-production. Remote updates will not update a Beta agent to the RC version.…
-
Yes it will update the agent version. That is odd it did not do it for you with auto updates enabled. Are you able to update that agent by pressing the update agent in the console? What version is the agent listed as in the console? The spoplog.txt will show what version it is at as well with a line that has the word…

Hi ghayas, That looks like the correct ip address based on your other screenshots. Do you see the ip address of the device in any of the logs that you had a screenshot of? If you cannot find them in any of the logs then maybe the logs are not getting to the appliance. In that case I would suggest opening a case with…

Doh... I meant to put that as one of the bullet points to check in my reply to you. Someone must have distracted me as I was writing it. Glad you were able to figure this out.
