Yeah... the worst part about it is when you find some super cool tool, but you already know you are not going to be able to upgrade for a while... all you can do is sit there and be depressed until upgrade day... lol

cgregors While it's not an official option/feature from SolarWinds, there is actually a very nice and easy way to accomplish this, when building out your server(s). I followed a few guides from KMSigma, and my SolarWinds environment has been running super smooth ever since. Automating Orion Server Installs - Builds from…

It almost seemed as if it was working like netflow, to some extent, but just dumping all the system stats in real time.

@"nerengm" I think there is definitely something to having a healthy dose of worry when doing any upgrade. If anything, at least that helps you to verify you are actually thinking about it. I always feel if I'm not worried about an upgrade, then I probably shouldn't be doing the upgrade. Over the years I have found that…

ikomrad Would you be able to accomplish this using group custom properties? Ex. Create "vendor" custom properties for node, interface, application, etc.. Then create a new custom property for a group, called "phone" (because I'm super original...). Then create a new "Vendors" group with a dynamic query that selects all…

Mike Lomax Yes, this has been an issue for a long time, and definitely needs to be fixed. I would think this to be a bug, and we should not need a feature request to correct, however, anything helps. Perhaps serena could add this to the hundreds of items on one of her many to-do lists, and check into it for us? Or, at…

bourlis I agree with your points. #2 & #3 can be handled with a few SDK scripts, but the logging and admin rights are long overdue for a refresh.

Yeah, ecklerwr1, that API has saved me too many times to count. I had not realized how much I had been using the API (nothing fancy, just a bunch of the basics) until a few months back, when my boss asked me to pull up some data to show him... followed by, "no, no, no... I mean on the website, where it makes sense to…

Can we get a mod to merge my post from 2013/10 for this idea with this one, since this one has more votes? Or do we still lack the technology? lol... Although I doubt merging them would actually accomplish anything towards getting this idea implemented, it would at least remove another duplicate.…

peter.vincenten@gwl.ca I think you can do this by adding an action in the scheduled report. The reports are saved with the format, YYYY_MM_DD_HH_MM_SS_ReportName.(pdf,csv,xls), or so it works for us. Is this what you are wanting to do? If not, then please explain in more detail. Thank you, -Will
