robert.apodaca Hi Robert, you can definitely use NCM to manage those Linux servers. I have done similar tasks within NCM, and it's actually pretty simple. Take a look at this post I did recently, and see if it helps get you going in a feasible direction. Using NCM To Manage Our Linux Servers Let us know how it goes,…

soleilion I'm not too sure about storing logs/files on the switches, but we benefit greatly by aggregating logs, from all of our devices/servers/etc., into Kiwi. Once Kiwi receives those logs, they are stored in various flat files based on which device/type/purpose/locations/etc. they came from. Additionally, as has…

soureddyjcr Custom properties will likely be the best way to accomplish this task. Basically, you create a custom property for "EmailTO", "EmailCC", and/or "EmailBCC". Fill in the appropriate email addresses in each. Then configure your send email action, within the alert, to use each of those custom properties in the to,…

milstateit@mil.wa.gov You could simply save that text as the script. Then, select the nodes you want to apply those commands to, and run the script on them. Go to Configs -> Configuration Management -> Script Management Then, create your script. You may want/need to include more code then that, or, you may not... depends…

scottgille Did you get this working? If so, did it provide you what you needed? Thank you, -Will
-
scottgille CourtesyIT I gave it a shot, and I think I may have the answer, located here: Custom Node & Polling, Combined Details Resource I hope it works for you. -Will
-
scottgille There is a user that has created numerous resources/mods/etc, similar, in a way, to what you are asking. Perhaps you can look though some of his work and see how he does it. I am sure there are others who can provide input as well, however, many of us have used content from Gob to enhance our systems. You can…

evi.evru Sorry you're having some troubles there. Just to verify, have you contacted support/opened a ticket yet? If not, I'd recommend doing that as soon as you can. Additionally, listing the specs of your SolarWinds environment (physical/vm, Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/etc., SQL Server 2012/2016/etc.), as well as the…

you can add a custom html resource... or add your url as an external website then add that website to the menu bar... Either of these should accomplish what I think you are asking for. -Will
-
jgalleno If the licensed server no longer exists, I believe you can open a support ticket to reset your license(s). You will need to tell them which license(s) to reset, but they should be able to get it done there.

alvaro.culebras Were you able to get the SCP options working?
-
alvaro.culebras While I'm not certain, I think those SCP settings must also be selected in the device/connection profile. There should be a drop down to select telnet, ssh, snmp, scp, etc. The 2nd screen shot is showing you have it configured to archive to the local folder. If you want to save to a network path, from…

ChrisDavis_HSV Yeah, I posted about this in the beta/ui forum last year, but it did not stick very well, obviously... I think this is where I posted it, but it looks like they refreshed the access/permissions to that group... https://thwack.solarwinds.com/message/318194 Just the "Node Details" resource itself, takes up…

adamlbell I believe the configs are stored within the DB. You should be able to run a job (NCM) to export the stored configs. Once you run that job, you should have text copies of all the configs. /Orion/NCM/Resources/Jobs/JobsList.aspx The steps within that job will allow you to specify where you would like the configs…

mr.e Did you ever get the results you were needing? -Will

mr.e Were you able to accomplish your goals/tasks?

mr.e I had recently found, and been working on a similar project to what you are asking for. Little Help with SQL Query - NCM Report Compliance Report, Summarize & Count Multiple Violations Per Device I had found the following code, listed below, in the first link above, and adjusted it to work for what I needed it for.…
-
You can see where NCM store ALL config FILES, here: /Orion/NCM/Admin/Settings/ConfigArchiveFolders.aspx Otherwise, if you are seeing configs on the nodes within SolarWinds, but not in the locations listed on the page above, they should be stored in your database.

alexander.kneer I'm not sure there is a way, other than possibly tricking the system via the method from wex, to adjust the min/max for charts on a per chart basis. I believe you can make some changes to the charts under the hood, but that's usually not supported, and could possibly lead to making a mess. Outside of a…

We also installed the NPM 11.5 RC, having only a few issues. Here is a link to my post 11.5RC installation findings...A few findings, after NPM 11.5 RC Upgrade... I really wish that new global search feature was ready and released with this version... oh well... we shall continue to wait... -Will

tsowers I know you are asking about 11.0.1, and we had upgraded from 11.0, but I figured I would just link to some of the problems I ran into with our upgrade. We ended up having to roll back to 11.0, as things just started to slow down and stop working little by little. Eventually, after 2 or 3 support calls, over 3 days,…

rschroeder Agreed! I noticed this a week or two ago as well, and didn't actually realize how much I used it until it was gone. Maybe there is a new feature button somewhere that will bring it back... ? marcoswithanoh thegreateebzies

add "Custom object resource" to a view, then add your group. you should be able to add a single node or a group, and then should be able to select the object resource to show. i.e. "Disk Volumes" "Memory Usage" "CPU Load" "Availability" etc...

Or, you can go to the NCM settings page, and create/manage your connection profiles from there.
-
vin06357 On the Node Details page, when you click "Edit Node", scroll down to the bottom of the page, and make sure to assign/create a connection profile for that device/type.
