scottyplo You could probably just add that command into the device template, and then add it as a config type to be downloaded. Maybe setup a job to download the history every xx hours or days... Would that work for you?

I believe this issue has been resolved in the latest NCM HotFix (NCM 7.8 HF1). Orion hotfix release notes - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support A hotfix bundle for products with Orion 2018.2 was released on September 28, 2018. NCM 7.8 Hotfix 1 - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support Fixed issues This hotfix…

smttysmth02gt Here is a post I found from ecklerwr1, where it looks like he has already walked the path you're on right now. Perhaps give his report a try and see what it comes up with. Cisco Hardware report with Serial Numbers
-
smttysmth02gt Are all of those 222 nodes in NCM too? If you see a serial from device type "A", are you seeing serials for all type "A" devices? For our Juniper devices, I have had to build new "Node Details" pollers, and I remapped the serial value into one of the unused fields. If you have devices that show everything…

tdavison2@siteone.com You can use the "Custom HTML" widget, which will allow you to drop in some HTML code to display what you need. Thank you, -Will

kcai Do y'all use custom properties? There was a post, a long time ago, in a thread far far away, that used a custom property field on the devices to determine who to send the notification to. Maybe you can add some sort of "RTCN" custom property value, set to the same email address as you currently have configured in the…
-
kcai You should be able to do this within the syslog filter you initially created to take action on the real time changes. I think you should even be able setup various, different, syslog rules, if you were so inclined, each one triggering/filtering on its own specific criteria. Each rule would still execute the same…

Hubble has been covering up the menus for a long while now, and definitely not caused by the new UI.

nglynn Do you know the SNMP OID for that metric? Also, do you have any other SolarWinds products? (NCM or SAM?) If you know the SNMP OID, you should be able to make a simple UnDP poller, which will allow you to monitor the metric. Otherwise, if you also have NCM or SAM, you could probably come up with a little script to…

anyting...?

galvin I am not certain, at least not for every different circumstance, however, I would think it best to upgrade your NPM core license first, before adding an APE. The NPM core polling engine is capable of 10k+ elements, with moderate polling cycles, before needing to add anything. All of the technical aspects aside, it…

cstimpert Please post your SWQL query so we can see what is going on with it.
-
bobmarley I presume you want to filter on the actual resource, but is applying a page limitation of "Single Group" an option?
-
JessicaWalsh I think it is the "Cache Settings" option, on the "Advanced Settings" page in the NCM settings.

I usually add that link to one of my menu bars, so folks can jump into it from anywhere. /Orion/NCM/SearchResult.aspx

jblowerytc Backing up the database, directly, is the best way to go. SQL Server Management Studio should be free, so it should not be an issue to acquire. As long as you have the proper credentials to access, and backup, the db server from SSMS, you should be good to go. Otherwise, I suppose you could manually export the…

terryedwards519 You should create a feature request for these. (make a separate feature request for each different idea... help you with your gamification... ) You can actually see some of these things already, but mostly at a super low level. And, you would have to go to, and click through, each and every user, which is…

spx13320 Personally, I would separate the trigger and scope/grouping criteria first. While not required, I find it easier to work with if testing different scenarios. Setting only the scope, I would check it at each condition created, and watch the list of interfaces continue to decrease, until showing only the exact…
-
This works pretty good. Not to hijack the thread, but if I needed to show the same thing for interfaces down, would I simply change all the node references to be interfaces? Thank you, -Will
-
epicor.jastalos While there are likely many ways to accomplish your request, I would say the link you provided is a good start. However, it sounds like you will be getting fairly deep into the automation, and I would guess you would need to branch out a bit, and probably get some decent SQL wheels spinning on the backend.…

hammondar While this does not directly answer anything for you, it is a good place to start gathering information on your new journey. Here is a link to the same question from last year, and it has some pretty good examples in it. I reference this link often, and even find some new ideas every once in a while. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/community/solarwinds-community/announcements/blog/2015/10/01/custom-properties-how-do-you-… As mentioned numerous…

wombatactual In addition to adding your new/custom commands to the device template, as it appears you have done, you must also add the new config type in the NCM settings. Check the following links for more info. Re: Use Solarwinds to Track CMD History on Cisco Devices Enable a new config type - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC.…

Good question, Good answer. Thank you both.

noobes I had actually been having the same issue with out Accedian devices. For whatever reason, there is a specific connection that goes stale, holding the "writelock" permission. On these devices, you cannot see the config unless you have that "writelock" permission. So, in order to do this, when attempting to download…

faisalusuf1 Also, while not required, it might be beneficial to provide full "A" and "B" environment specs. A= Server 2008/SQL 2008/NPM 10.0/SAM xx/NCM xx/etc... B=Server 2012/SQL 2012/NPM 11.5/etc... Again, it is not required, although, providing more information will likely allow for better feedback. Thank you, -Will

faisalusuf1 If you are trying to upgrade/migrate from NPM 10.0 to NPM 11.5.2, I think you will need to step upgrade. I am pretty certain there were numerous database changes between those versions. I would recommend using the upgrade path tool, Product Upgrade Advisor | SolarWinds Customer Portal , and make sure to break…

oithim_yew When you say through Netflow, do you have NTA installed? If so, where is it installed? What did you upgrade from/to? What other modules do you have installed/in use? How is your Orion environment setup? Primary Server: NPM, NCM, SAM Secondary Server: APE, NTA DB Server: Database ? -Will
