Brandon, What specifically should I be looking for? We haven't seen anything in the Event logs which would indicate a problem although I'm not a Microsoft guru so I could be missing something. As for the web console, there are no messages. The NOC told me that it's just hangs when it reloads. Thanks, Bill Fleitz

Thanks for your reply. I thought it was released. Support sent me an SP3 update--I installed it and at the bottom of my home page it says: SolarWinds Orion Network Performance Monitor 9.5 SP3 1995-2009 All Rights Reserved
-
I installed SP3 yesterday which was supposed to fix this issue and last night the NOC called again to say that Orion had stopped responding. This is completely unacceptable. We run Airwave to monitor our wireless network and it's never gone down. There needs to be a resolution to this issue soon.

Also to add one more thing, monitoring the server itself in SAM works fine. I just select "Inherit credentials for node" and the application monitors work fine. We own NPM and SAM but not IPAM so I'm using a eval license. I hope to get this to work.

Thanks for your reply. The server is a stand alone (WORKGROUP) so the only option I can see is to use a local account. It just doesn't work. I continue to get "Test Failed The user name or password is incorrect"
-
Thanks again for your help. I'll check the admin guide to see if I've made an error in the configuration. I'll let you know how it works out.

Hi, we are considering buying IPAM but I'm running into this same issue with Windows Server 2016. I tried creating a separate local account to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for all the help. I just needed to get on the right track. Now everything is coming into focus.
-
Thanks Chris. I was looking in the wrong place--I was clicking on product updates under support. I got the proper link now.
-
Thanks for all your responses. I will follow the other threads to see if I can work this out.

Just one final quick question. I haven't been able to test this but if you have the pollers assigned to a node (let's use the Cisco power supply poller for example). If one of the power supplies on a node goes down, does Orion automatically recognize that as a problem and post it on the home page under "Nodes with…

Great info. This online tutorial is just what doctor ordered. Thanks.

Thanks again for your reply. No, I didn't add the DHCP server. I don't think Solarwinds supports CNR (Cisco Network Registry) server so I just added all the subnets manually.. I could be wrong but I tried the credentials for CNR and it didn't respond. In any case it sounds like I need the DHCP configured to get the MAC…

Ah, that makes sense. Good point about using the custom property to filter. Thanks again!

This discussion is regarding 5.5.1 not 5.1.1.
-
Chris, I can't seem to download it from the customer portal either. When you click on the link it just takes you back to the customer portal page. It appears that this happens with all the download links. Also it's listed as NCM 5.5.1 (does not say whether or not it's the integration module or an update to NCM server).…

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, there is something else causing this issue. I've opened a support case with Solarwinds.
-
You hit the nail on the head. I installed 32 bit ActiveState perl and the monitors are working! Thanks so much.
-
Thanks Brian. I will hang on for SP3.

Thanks for your response. I'm sorry but I must be missing something here. When you say click Edit in the Resource, I'm not clear as to what you are referring.
-
Yes that works just fine! Thank you!
-
Thanks for your reply! Let me try your suggestion and see if that gives me what I need. --Bill

Good suggestion. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. Nothing other than the ServiceControl Event which shows that the SNMP Trap service received a stop control and the subsequent event indicating that the service has shut down. There is nothing else using the Trap service other than Orion. I can't figure out what's going on.
-
Thanks for your reply. I have it set to scan but while I am seeing the DNS entry (Source for Update: Subnet DNS server scan) I see nothing in the MAC Assignment History. I wonder if I've configured a setting wrong?
-
Thanks for your responses. I guess I don't quite understand how it works. I had already assigned the pollers to the nodes when I added them. What I don't understand is how to monitor them in Orion. Where does the poller relay that information in Orion?
-
Actually let me say it appears to be partially resolved. I'm seeing the Virtual Machines but no Memory, CPU or IP info. At least we are making progress!

Thanks for the informative replies. I've gone ahead and created a Custom property "dorms." If I understand correctly, I will apply that property to the dorm room interfaces and then mark those as unplugged. I agree with not wanting to add so many interfaces but hopefully this will only be for about a month. I will adjust…

I have the same error too. I don't see any alarms on the router itself though.... I'm seeing the same thing too. Running 9.5.1.
