Ok, looks like it's fixed now.

Same here as well. Possibly due to rate limiting of the point additions - I believe I answered the questions within a minute of each other.

I've gotta agree that it was poorly written as well. I initially answered incorrectly because I was thinking "Workfiles Created" was to be interpreted as total number of files created, as opposed to the rate of files being created (i.e. "Workfiles Created/sec"). But after going back and seeing that minute detail in the…

Once upon a time my responsibility was to support a group of end users that were using a home-grown application that used a home-grown DB. The application would often lock up. Eventually the DBA was able to tell me that it was due to deadlocks but that was all the detail I ever received. At the time I had very little SQL…

6. Continuous improvement.

I had the same answer and the same issue. At this time the max total (Tx+Rx) average is only about 10KB.

We looked at NetBrain briefly. Demo looked really great but the pricetag and lack of support for Cisco Nexus stopped us from even doing an on-site eval.

I used to frequently comment to customers and coworkers that I've yet to see an up-to-date and complete network diagram. Now I just don't say it as much. Visio diagrams seem to be the most frequent format I've seen, followed very closely by hand-drawn diagrams that are to be converted into Visio docs "when I get a moment".…

Cisco chassis switches and linecards. Even better would be some kind of indication as to which firmware versions support a given EoS component. For example, I had an OSM card in a Cat 6500 that was fine under 12.2(17) but was no longer supported when I tried to ugprade to 12.2(33).

We currently use Infoblox for our DHCP services. Currently not using it for internal DNS. We were evaluating whether to put effort into Infoblox's IPAM solution versus Orion's IPAM solution. The biggest pain we've discovered about Infoblox is that is knows of nothing that it hasn't handed out the IP for. Unless we want to…

Still got one of those myself. Even have the DC Hayes Microcoupler (as it was called at the time) with the hand inscribed serial number.

Another desirable feature would be to create/update/start NPM discovery jobs.

Four. Tried various capitalization, underscores, dashes.

Hmmm, good to know. Thanks.

Perhaps the hint presented the data in multiple places using varying terminology. The text in which I found the answer, very early in the document, did use the same terminology as the question text.

Those are either a Pi B+ or a Pi 2 B. Sweet

We'll be blaming any "network slow" reports on users browsing websites. Hopefully we'll get a directive to block shopping/commerce sites for a few days.
-
I often joke that the network would run much better if it weren't for the damn users.
-
How can I stop the service in NCM 7.4? When I open Orion Service Manager I do not see any services referencing "NCM" or "Cache". Same is true when I look at Windows services.

SSL VPN, IPSec VPN, Citrix. If a user can get an Internet connection then we've got a means to get them in.

I agree the reports have limited flexibility when using the report writer functions to build the reports. If you can write your report as a custom SQL query, which it sounds like you have the skillset for, then the web reports can produce much more useful data.

From the T&C: thwack Stack Points. There will be ONE question in each category where an entrants may wager 500 or 750 of his/her existing thwackpoints for each question in each category; this will be called a THWACK STACK QUESTION. During the Entry Period, there will be a total of FOUR thwack stack questions; one thwack…

I try to do the same thing for my rules and objects: App name, layer (UI, app, DB, etc), segment name, data center name. This makes it much easier to reuse objects from one firewall to the next. Hopefully this will eventually also make it easier to integrate a common firewall rule management product.

We don't have NV on our roadmap, but it is definitely something we need to get a handle on as it's already in the environment. We've had virtualized switches in our environment for a while due to the VMware clusters. Now we're adding a number of UCS clusters with it's own set of virtual switches combined with connectivity…

As long as it isn't a bright red or yellow firewall appliance then I'm happy.

I think I've got 3 or 4 of those whiteboard photos on my phone right now. And they're still waiting to be put into a Visio.

Another reason for tool sprawl that I've seen many places is simply a lack of knowledge about what is already available. Often new solutions are purchased or built when an already in-place solution can fulfill a given need because not everyone knows of the existing solution or the capabilities of the existing solution, or…

At a previous employer I kept pushing for a config management solution, or at least some kind AAA, so we could easily push changes or update authentication credentials if needed. Those requests kept falling on deaf ears. That is, until I gave my notice and they started to realize how many customer networks and devices I…

I believe I've answered all the dailies. Can you confirm? Thanks.
