Agreed, but i see a lot of customers who use the best of both worlds, what i meant was customers whom i see generally have NPM,NCM,NTA,SAM and VMAN. But it would be great if SolarWinds can retain both (component based and node based) licensing models, I as well understand that there could be a road-map as to why SolarWinds…

Thanks aLTeReGo

Thank you

Hence we can conclude that SAM should be deployed on NPM server so that both can use same DB and we will get consolidated view of events from both the modules. - Correct In case of APEs we can only utilize free APEs only for SAM polling as we have node based licensing for SAM. - Makes sense to me now. As i said we are…

Thank you aLTeReGo, we had discussed this few years ago but couldn't find the thread, that's the reason i thought I would check with you once again, thanks a ton.
-
aLTeReGo thank you for kicking me on that, old school . Whats the best way to approach on it ? 4/6, 5/6, 6/6 ?
-
comes with a cost, you have to purchase EOC license + you will need a VM to host EOC and its DB
-
Article says its applicable for 2019.4 as well provided we are talking about SQL DB https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/Critical-index-fragmentation-error-displays-in-the-Orion-Web-Console

@"vishud_12" Hi, sorry for the delayed response. Definitely yes. 1. Check out Additional Pollers, you can place additional pollers which is spread across geographically, the only thing that you need to make sure is, it should be able to talk to your Primary Poller and your SolarWinds Database that's all. 2. You always have…

Was the system (SolarWinds Server) patched recently - I mean just before this issue appeared OR was any change performed on the server ? From your comments i do understand the issue started all of sudden and these executable s were running fine till date.

Thank you aLTeReGo

Two things: 1. Check if any other agent or software is running on your machine, like say SCOM agent or some other thing which is monitoring your tool or monitoring your SolarWinds Server where you are trying to install NCM, if yes then stop that service before you install NCM. 2. Talk to SolarWinds and check if installer…

Hi akhasheni , Actually its not collecting data but then it would still appear as the data is already stored on DB for that particular node. (The data that was present from the previous poll before you unmanaged the node)
-
To start with go to settings -> Manage nodes -> search for your node that you want to exclude from your alert - > select that and click on edit properties *Enter the value on the new custom attribute (say the custom attribute that i created is 'comments') you just need to specify a value like say : 'NoAlert' , in the below…

1. Default Disk Volumes (widget/resource) doesn't provide a filtering option. 2. I wouldn't suggest this but it is possible, you have to add a new resource to list the volumes and apply a filter on that resource to only display the actual disks, but for this you gotta edit your default Node Summary View. Rather i would…

Or maybe its the version that you are running on, can you confirm on NCM Version, because the link as well says this issue is fixed through a Hotfix, before installing that Hotfix i would suggest you to raise a case with SolarWinds rather than trying this out. Note: The Config Archive issue has been been fixed on NCM…

I am not sure where this session timeout parameter can be set, its always good to raise a vendor support case for such changes. But then just another query with respect to what we can check, you mentioned this report is scheduled to run at a particular time isnt it? Are lot of reports scheduled at the same time ? I mean…

Hi @"PhilRamz" Do one thing reboot your SolarWinds server wmm0949solap01 Then try running configuration wizard. Hope it helps.

Thank you, will respond back if i find something.

perfect, thank you.

As i said polling is happening continuously and in case all consecutive polls for next 1 hour say BGP neighbor is still down then your 2nd escalation will fire an alert. In case the BGP neighbor issue is resolved in one of the polls within that 1 hour your alert would reset to normal. 2nd escalation will only fire if the…

Nice, thanks for refreshing my memory. Unmanaged is not considered in best, worst and mixed status of a group - perfect https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/Success_Center/orionplatform/Content/Core-Managing-the-Display-of-Group-Status-sw1691.htm#:~:text=Set%20up%20group%20status,a%20Status%20Rollup%20Mode%20option.

2 are constantly experiencing it, this is strange to me. Can you tell me few things: 1. Where do they login into the Console, is it outside the perimeter from what you do ? 2. How many concurrent users do you have at any given point of time ? Is it more than 40 ? 3. How is your Orion architecture placed ? You just have a…

Run a manual backup and check if backup is successful, as i said "Error details" field on same view, scroll your view to the right, it might already be there.

Unfortunately i do not have a document, you have to look into Zabbix admin guide as to what action needs to be added onto your alert to convert it into a SNMP Trap (Destination IP of send trap will be SolarWinds Orion Server IP/FQDN). On SolarWinds Orion you can anyways view all incoming SNMP Traps on Message Center…

If we can monitor our applications' NetFlow - I don't think you can, that application monitor that you are talking about has nothing to do with your requirement, rather its used to monitor the NTA module.
-
I am assuming this template (Application Monitor for Netflow Traffic Analyzer) will monitor your NTA module and stats for the same if NTA is present in your environment. Is it the same thing that's mentioned in the below link?…

1. Actually we have to utilize SAM to add these nodes as we don't have enough license for NPM. - Ah alright, in that case you will have to get your NPM device license extended if not you cant deploy SAM on the same server, see this is what my understanding is, you add a device and it consumes one license on your NPM store…
-
Saw another post from you - "Adding non-IP objects as external nodes" cool
-
You would require an IP to add them though, what exactly are you trying to monitor through SAM ? Why do you need an external node in your environment ? If you could let me know it would help me a bit
