  • In short Orion ignores the top 5% and buttom 5% of the polling results (in other words ignores spikes) That means that if you have a 256 kbps line and you're monitoring traffic - and the usual load is around 128 kbps but one reading pushes the load to 256 kbps Orion will ignore this reading as it doesn't really represent…
  • I'm having serious performance issues with my installation aswell - How many nodes/interfaces are you monitoring with your NPM installation ?
  • I seem to recall that there is something about ASP and rendering of pages after some period of inactivity. performance - Slow first page load on asp.net site - Stack Overflow
  • I fail to see the issue - allow SNMP from your Orion Polling engine to the IP adresses of the routers you wish to monitor - and limit the routers to only respons to SNMP request from the Polling engine (or the IP you NAT to).
  • I'd very much like to see this functionality aswell.
  • I dont think the bug mentioned by "am3e2445" has anything to do with the number of interfaces - I've seen this bug a few times on Orion 9.1 SP5 even on devices with only 50 interfaces - And I've also found that the only thing the corrects it is being patient (not several days - but overnight seems to cover it). I actually…

  • To make it REALLY easy on yourself - simply make a copy of your Solarwinds installation folder - you probably wont need 99% of the files - but you will have everything you need for the new server. After reinstalling the new server simply locate the files you need and copy them to the new installation folder. From the top…
  • I'm having the exact opposite problem - most of my charts only display the interval between the min and max value - There seems to be no way to control it - which I agree is a mayor nuisance.
