Even, I have been getting lot of requests to keep the Thin (Wireless) Access Points in Unmanaged mode for a duration. I could not do it. rschroeder, aLTeReGo - Please let us know, is there a way to keep Thin APs in Unmanage mode. We are on NPM 12.2. Thank you.

Yes, it may affect, if you have used the IP Address in Reports/Alert rules. It only affects, if you are checking this device in the reports/alerts. Otherwise it won't affect.

I did R & D and found that we have a new category for Hardware as "Overall Hardware Status". When you select this you can see the status as "Could Not Poll". Using this new category you can see it in Reports/Alerts, etc. Using the above I wrote a new alert rule and got the alert.

The above conditions looks OK to me. I think you need to create separate rules for each category of the alert like Warning, Serious, Critical, etc. This is what we have done in our environment for 2 categories Warning or Critical.
