Ok, that's why you don't see name of device, but regading unknown device type do you use windows snmp agent, net-snmp or any other? And what returns sysObjectID (1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2) ? Lastly, what version of NPM do you use? I'll check our database if your device type is presents. Thanks

Hello D.G. Pratama, NPM 10.4 added enhanced de-duplication logic into "Add node" and "Discovery" wizards. Every time you run one these wizards list of de-duplicators perform checks for possible duplicate with already monitoring nodes. Final verdict if node is duplicate or not is calculated from partial results defined by…

Hi krfitzgerald, As I don't know which NPM version you are running download and install open source net-snmp tool (console application) from http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/ You can download the Win32 binaries here: sourceforge.net/.../ It doesn’t matter what machine do you install it on, as long as it reaches the device.…

Are you able to run "ping behrbackup" on your NPM installation server, what is result? In case Windows ping utility won't resolve your behrbackup to ip, then you can update your DNS server and add new entry, or edit Hosts file. Hosts file is first place where is Windows looking for hostname to ip address resolution. To…

Hi genesys, Can you try to query sysName (OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5.0) and provide us result. We use this OID to get machine name. P.S. You can use our Engineer’s Toolset http://www.solarwinds.com/products/toolsets/

Yes it'll help, but as I mentioned, this exception has no impact for NPM. Best Regards Tomas

Welcome hilbertd21, can you post SQL error which DBA faced here? Thank you TP

Hello Ismo, Which browser are you using? Do you have any kind of advertisement blocking plug-in enabled? Button wasn't removed but it has HTML class property named "addContainer" and some extensive blocking filters faulty detects it as advertisement. Tom P.

I'm sorry it's hard to say without diagnostics and SNMP walk from your device

When you're exporting data NPM server needs internally contact website service. During this communication is required hostname to IP address translation. In your situation it means on Orion server is trying to translate "behrbackup" to IP. Orion is then using this IP address for communication, but in some unpredictable…

Syed, can you verify with UnDP assigned on affected node (in case of need check our NPM Administrator Guide:Creating Universal Device Pollers section) that OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.11.0 is returning 0 or 100? This particular OID is measuring percentages of idle CPU time, so it should vary during load. Let run this UnDP for…

Hello r0berth1, From "Last Database Update Now" and "Last Database Sync 29 seconds ago" for main and additional poller it doesn't looks like it stopped polling, but for 100% we need diagnostics. From which signs you have assumed that engines stopped polling? Best Regards Tom
-
If you set TopologyEnabled="False" in SolarWinds.Orion.Core.BusinessLayer.dll.config, you will disable only calculations. Pollers will collect data same way as before, use ZiZi way to achieve fully disabled topology pollers. Last but not least, create feature request, we are see your needs but feature request is best way…
-
Hi patriot, Last Database Update - is time difference between current time and the latest synchronization on Nodes, that mean last time when node was polled and result data are stored back to DB. This value is global for Database and valid value is lower than minimal poll interval (by default 120 seconds). You can check…

adatole, do you have virtual machine on which is this issue reproducible? In case you are can I schedule GoTo meeting for live investigation? Thanks in advanced Tom P.

Hello rharland2012, it's hard to say without knowing how is your node polled (WMI or SNMP) and which CPU poller has assigned. If node monitored by SNMP and you have NPM >= 10.3 you can use PollerChecker tool which is placed in %ProgramFiles(x86)%\SolarWinds\Orion\PollerCheckerTool.exe and test if other CPU poller is…

Hello stevel, are you able to collect SNMP walk for your device from your Orion server? You can use SnmpWalk.exe utility which is located in {OrionInstallDir}\SnmpWalk.exe, just provide community string public in your case. In case you aren't able to do full walk, then NPM is not able to poll device. Make sure that you…

Hello rharland2012, Have you updated limitation of visible data series? If no, then create support ticket and post number here. Thank you TP

Hello David, It's known exception. We are using internally Windows Performance counters and they have by default set shared memory to 524,288 bytes which is not enough when we use it by multiple worker processes. This exception is not critical

Hi hilbertd21, Orio has index defragmentation in Database Maintenance task, but it's turn off by default see SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Critical index fragmentation detected during database maintenance. Hi Andy McBride, I understand that it's time consuming (nice workaround to spend time with dance ) Anyway it's safe to open NPM website and do what you need to do. Website will be just slower, because needs to be compiled on-the-fly once firstly touched. Tom P.
