If you're using the example, "ciscoEnvMonTemperatureStatusValue" with OID "1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.3" it's not supported on a Cisco 2950.

Also if it's not a stored credtial it will also be shown in the Nodes table of the database.
-
In the Orion database there is a table called SNMPV3Credentials, it has the stored SNMPv3 strings stored there

Can you post a screen shot of your report and how it is structured?
-
john, were you looking to schedule something that would run the custom report and then save to a share? After reading other post on thwack it appears the only available scheduling methods for output are email and printing. Inside of Report Writer you can export your custom reports to a share but there's no method to…

Is the server you are trying to poll your Orion NPM server or another server?
-
What Solarwinds program are you trying to accomplish this in?
-
Have you considered renaming the individual component within the application monitor or within the application template. The "HTTP Monitor" could be renamed to "www.xyz.local". HTH

NPM and NCM operate out of seperate databases therefore the security in this case account limitation doesn't pass thru from one to the other. Keep in mind in the web console of Orion NCM is only intergrated at the web interface level.
-
The online Administrators Guide has pretty extensive instrusctions on setting up alerts and the various trigger actions. www.solarwinds.com/.../wwhelp.htm

I'm sure it seems like an easy way but I've used Google Image search a number of times to find some unique maps.
-
You can actually use NPM syslog the same way to kick of the ConfigAutoDownload.exe ${IP}. Just make sure in NCM that you have set all the Real Time Change Detection setting especially a windows based account that has permision to kick-off the task.

I would consider removing the node completely and re-adding it to Orion. If that doesn't work I would look into the net-SNMP setting on my server.

If you're speaking about how the custom properties are listed as when you are editing a node in Node Managment, then yes it's all or nothing. The custom properties are specific to the nodes based on the field location in the Nodes table within the Orion database. If you're talking about limiting a users access to certain…

Have you tried marking the interface as shutdown in Node Managment? Or you can also turn off child status for nodes in Network Atlas.
-
As long as the user account has "Node Management" rights they will be able to use discovery, however you will need to provide a custom link on one of your tool bars pointing to the network discovery view at "/Orion/Discovery/Default.aspx" seeing as how this account will not have access to the "Settings" page.

I ran some test on a lab enviroment. Even it's from a node with an IP address that's not in the system it will still show up in the syslog web view.
-
I would suggest monitoring at management Vlan IP addresses if possible. NCM isn't smart enough to know that a system with multiple IP interfaces is really one system. Not only does it get confusing in your NCM or NPM views but it also eats at a license count for the duplicated nodes.

There is a table in databse called TypesOfService with all the DSCP values listed. You might try and add another row to this table with your values or edit one of the less common values in the table. I would consider doing this in a test enviroment to see how it plays out in the software. Anythoughts from SW staff??

A couple of things need to be in place: 1. You have to have working device templates for those models - Can you currently pull a config from these devices using NCM? 2. These devices would have send syslog or snmp traps messages to your NCM/NPM server. 3. The device would have to send some specific syslog/snmp trap message…

Did you try to run the Configuration Wizard from NPM server console after restoring your database?

Any resolution to the following error: "Error: Session data is not available. Please refresh this page. If this error occurs more often, please check whether the maximum of worker processes in IIS is set to 1 for this application pool." Seeing it intermittently in EOC on Win 2003 Server SP2 box with Orion EOC 1.3.0.1183…

Have you considered setting up a custom property for each node that allows you to categorize your nodes specific to your environment? You can group all nodes based on the custom property you create. Also consider using NPM's Account Limitation Builder to setup limitation based on those custom node properties.
-
It is possible to create Config Change Templates, however it is possible you may need a new template for each different type of device depending on the IOS/firmware-commandset on each device. The admin guide for NCM has a full chapter( Chapter 7, Page 96) for Config Change Templates.…

Any resolution to this seeing the same issue on a 10.2 NPM box with 2 pollers.

Have you considered creating a custom view for his account and then limiting that view, not his account, to your specific needs. Example I created a view to limit hardware to "Cisco" added the resource of Last Events and all I see is events related to Cisco devices.
