  • RichardLetts quick question about this line "assuming the caption on your nodes matches the 6 characters you have in the tag you pulled from the trap." The only real node here is the single server that sends traps for all stations. Will this work assuming the single source, or do I need to add an external device for each…
  • sorry, this isn't answered, accidentally clicked the link and can't change it back
  • anyone? Bueler?
  • Interface Custom Properties: CircuitID Carrier CarrierContact (put carrier's contact number CarrierPortal (use <a href="www.site.com">Portal</a> to create a link to the carriers portal) SpecialInterface (for designating important interfaces) Node Custom Properties: City Classification (prod, dr, uat, etc.) DeviceType Grade…
  • Anyone know where I can find a straight forward approach for creating alerts from traps using SQL? I've been going through the forum and although there are many mentions of this, I have yet to find a clear way of doing this? Any assistance is appreciated.
  • +1 I have the same issue and need devices already monitored by SW to display regardless of the polling IP / discovered IP
  • As has been suggested, I would strongly recommend using Network Atlas for this
  • lll8lll can you provide a brief process for creating a separate view on a per-device basis? I was trying to figure this out yesterday, but wasn't able. Thanks
  • I followed lll8lll 's instructions and it worked like a charm. Only thing I don't like is the custom query shows up on all devices (blank on non-ASA devices). But this is pretty minor compared to not monitoring ASA hardware. Thanks lll8lll
  • Agree with nearly all of the previous posts. Capability * ability to create advanced alerts on TRAPs and/or SYSLOG UI * ability to adjust the width of individual resources as opposed to the entire column * ability to show/hide individual custom properties from the 'edit node' page. There are some custom properties that are…
  • something like this might work. Go to 'Report Manager' and upload this report. Then you can edit until you get what you want.
  • Kevin, Good question, assuming you're already familiar with this, but I use custom properties pretty extensively in NPM to identify the functional network or system. If the nodes you want in the map have a custom property, then you're in luck. On the left column in Network Atlas, you can use the drop down to group devices…
  • We have upgraded to 12.0.1 and are also experiencing these issues. However, they are more of an annoyance than actual deal-breaker for us. Issues we have observed: * admin banner is showing '1 evaluation license has expired' despite the evaluation being uninstalled (which did not fix). * Trap rules are being ignored…
  • Maikel, I do this all the time for lots of different resources. After adding the new tab, add a 'custom html' resource to the page and set the desired width of the column. Then, inside the custom html resource, add your iframe HTML. From my experience, it works best to set the width and height of the external resource, and…
  • Just click 'edit node', then down towards the bottom in the 'NCM' section, change 'yes' to 'no', and the device will remain in NPM but no longer be managed in NCM
  • why not create a report from report manager, then export the results to Excel
  • Michael, no I didn't, it never even occurred to me that I may have had a javascript conflict. When hovering over a device and seeing the tooltip incorrectly formatted, it occurred to me that tooltips were powered by javascript, then it clicked for me. Thanks for your help on this one.
  • solved. The javascript from my custom 'word timezone clocks' module was interfering with the tooltips. Once I disabled the clocks, tooltips restored.
  • anyone else experience this? Hovering over maps in Solarwinds displays the tooltip with html tags?
  • the tooltip appears correctly in network atlas, it's just when i view the map in Solarwinds via browser that the tooltips appear with html tags. This occurs in IE, Chrome, and Firefox
