Anyone got any ideas?

Do you have VNQM? There are some articles on configuring it for Avaya https://www.solarwinds.com/voip-network-quality-manager/use-cases/avaya-voip-troubleshooting Success Center

I think it may be an issue with NPM 10.7. See at the bottom of this post (Bandwithd Diferenciation), Manilyn is also on 10.7 and reports the same behaviour as you've found. I'm on 11.0.1 and I changed a 2mb link in Solarwinds to 1mb. Now my utilisation is hitting 200% (as expected) but my Min/Max/Average BPS is still…

Yes once a switch is in NPM it's up to you when you add in more ports for monitoring. If you add in every single port, then you'll end up with a lot of down alerts for all the disconnected ports. In my opinion it is not worth monitoring access ports. I would only monitor uplinks and important links such as links to ap's or…

I use a Cisco router like a 2801 or 2811 with a HWIC-16A card in it. This will provide 16 simultaneous console connections. It works great, I have no concerns with it. We also have some old 2511's and 2611's as well. I have no redundancy for the device. If it dies, then I would just get it fixed. But remember Cisco gear…

I have noticed the same thing as you have listed in Number 1. But it hasn't bothered me at this point in time. Please report back. Thanks.

You can do this with the SAM module. (can't do it with IPAM. IPAM does DHCP) See here for more information DNS, TCP & FTP Monitoring & Management Software – Free Trial | SolarWinds

Double check your network settings e.g. duplex etc. Then replace the cable for the link. Reset the counters and check again.

I have the same version as you and mine displays all my vlan's. It says I have 372 in total, so not as many as you would have.

Solarwinds says that Transient state is designed to be used for devices that are dynamically assigned and typically power on and off. So when using the Transient option, a device will change status from Used to Transient. Then if the set transient time expires, it will change to Available. So then when selecting the…

Unfortunately Group Name and Node Status aren't available in the same trigger so that's the issue you're having. I believe if you change your trigger to the following, it should work. You can still use ${NodeName} in your email alert.

A few of the build in reports (such as Physical Entities (Serial Number)) in NCM will show you this information. Or you can build your own. Chapter 10 of the NCM manual tells you all about it. http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/orionNCM/docs/orionNCMAdministratorGuide.pdf

Why don't you manually add in the extra ranges you wish to scan in IPAM? That way any range not in DHCP will be covered by IPAM. In my case I actually don't have IPAM integrated with DHCP and I just scan all /24's (as that's how most are broken up) for any addresses that are out there. And then I've created some separate…

I would log a support call for this and ask them what the issue is. If you don't want to do that, try restarting your Orion server before doing the upgrade. And if it still fails, stop the NPM website in IIS.

Pull the redundant power supply out and note what message appears in syslog on the device. Then go to the syslog server and create a rule that alerts you when this particular kind of syslog message appears in the syslog database. In syslog server go to View and select Alerts/Filter Rules. Then just create a new rule that…

These views should have an Edit button. If you click on it, then it should have a Filter Nodes (SQL) section. In here you can filter for the interface. If you've labelled those interfaces with a common name you could use a filter such as interfacealias like '%inside%' Where 'inside' is one of the words on the interface.

Where do you see this problem? When you export it? If so, put in a feature request to request that the last octet is 3 digits long e.e. 10.1.1.001

I'm not sure what you are asking but have you filled out this? Do both credentials pass the test?

I tried the above and it worked ok for me but I've been setting this default in the user's property. It's near the bottom of the edit user's account page. Try that and see if they all display in Celsius then.

I do my duplicate IP reporting through the syslog viewer. I have a rule setup that looks for IP-4-DUPADDR message. If found, it sends me an email with the details. Have a read of this in regards to Solarwinds 'Find and Fix IP Conflicts". IP Address Conflict – Resolve IP Address Conflict | SolarWinds

Wow that will be a massive upgrade! I recently went from NPM 11.0.1 to 12.1. I also have UDT, IPAM, NCM & VNQM. The product advisor showed me that I had to step through about 17 steps of upgrades to make sure each module was compatible with the other. If you follow the upgrade advisor, you should be fine. But set aside…

Try rebooting the device.
-
If you copy the new config into the startup config, it will copy in your config as you've supplied it. And when you reboot the device, it will become the running config. If you are using your new config to just update your running config, then you'll need to issue the commands as you would do when you are logged onto the…

You'll need to do this as a feature request. That way people can vote on i

If you log onto the Solarwinds server and open Solarwinds Network Configuration Manager, you can easily select 2 configs (hold down shift as you select them) and then right click and select Compare Selected Configs. Or you can do it in the GUI by selecting Configs and then Configuration Management. Then select on the 2…

Is the device accessible via SNMP?

I'm running version 7.1.1 and searches do work for me in the web version. But as I mentioned in this thread http://thwack.solarwinds.com/message/190937#190937, I do notice some strange behaviours in the web version which is why I only ever use the GUI version. I've not bothered logging a case for this as the GUI suits me…

I have noticed the same thing. The clock is displaying GMT and not the local timezone. Surely there must be a SQL command that set the timezone to local. But I don't know SQL at all. Hopefully an expert in SQL will chime in.

You could just write up some custom Advanced Alerts. Use Group as your type of Property to Monitor as per image below. Then in Trigger Actions you put in who you'd like to email. And just created another alert for the other group etc.

Have the DirectLink user as an Orion user. Anyone that does not have an account configured on the Solarwinds server, will use this DirectLink user by default.
