I recently upgraded all my Solarwinds products. I went from NPM 11.0.1 to 12.1. I also upgraded NCM, IPAM, UDT, VNQM & NTA. I didn't download a separate installer. You need to configure the device to send snmp traps using the Loopback interface.

Looks to me like the retention settings are global and not configurable on individual interfaces.

Have you checked the user's Account setup? Has someone changed the "Allow Node Management Rights" to No?

I created separate Connection Profiles. One for Telnet and one for SSH. Then I just set the device to use one or the other. Or you can have the default say on Telnet and create a Connection Profile for SSH. Connection profiles is found in NCM Settings, in the Global Device Defaults box.

We use TACACS and it can expire the password. So once it expires, NCM can't back up the configs anymore until someone creates a new password and updates the password in NCM.

If you set this option, then it should write the config off if it has changed. I can't see an option to always write the config. I've never tried this option.

The only thing I'd like to see is a back button for the right hand pane (window). I have my subnets listed in a /16 (but displayed as /24s) so each time I want to open another /24, I have to select the folder on the left again and then click on the /24 I want to look in. Hope that makes sense.

Anyone got any ideas?

Yes once a switch is in NPM it's up to you when you add in more ports for monitoring. If you add in every single port, then you'll end up with a lot of down alerts for all the disconnected ports. Double check your network settings e.g. duplex etc. Then replace the cable for the link. Reset the counters and check again.

Unfortunately Group Name and Node Status aren't available in the same trigger so that's the issue you're having. I believe if you change your trigger to the following, it should work. You can still use ${NodeName} in your email alert.

Why don't you manually add in the extra ranges you wish to scan in IPAM? That way any range not in DHCP will be covered by IPAM. These views should have an Edit button. If you click on it, then it should have a Filter Nodes (SQL) section. In here you can filter for the interface. If you've labelled those interfaces with a common name you could use a filter such as interfacealias like '%inside%' Where 'inside' is one of the words on the interface.

I tried the above and it worked ok for me but I've been setting this default in the user's property. It's near the bottom of the edit user's account page. Try that and see if they all display in Celsius then.
