sturdyerde wrote: Ouch, sorry to hear that yours has gone so poorly. Do you suspect .NET 4.8 or something else? Not sure what the issue was. Everything seemed fine except for NCM no longer working on the APE's and my HTTP post email alert no longer worked.

hpstech wrote: Are you reverting back to previous backup or going to try and work through the issues? This is why I fear upgrading my larger environments. No we tried to get Solarwinds to fix the issue. They had 2 go's at it before he decided to rebuild one of the APE's. Every since then, that APE would no longer talk to…

You'd have to make your own. Take the data into an Excel spreadsheet, and then you can display it how you like.

schnarked wrote: Hi Superfly, Unfortunately you can't actually - here you can only configure: a) How long to keep uncompressed data for - default is 60 minutes, max = 240 minutes. This is the 1 minute data from what I understand Sorry didn't realise there was only a 4 hour limit in the options. Hopefully Andy's option will…

Yeah I'm aware of events but not all events trigger an alert. And yes you could get crafty and display some events but that still doesn't guarantee if an alert was generated. I think it would be handy to see historical alerts.

I guess in that case the server can still be contacted through WMI but pings are failing. However I think it would be extremely rare to have 100% packet loss and the node not be marked as down. I do have an alert for packet loss on all my WAN links. It will send an email if it detects packet loss over 10% for a continuous…

Is there a DBA available? You'll need a correct username and password.

Hi, your network team just needs to configure the device to send the syslogs to your Solarwinds syslog server. So if it's a Cisco device you use logging host x.x.x.x <- ip address of your Solarwinds syslog server logging traps notifications <- I use this level for syslogs but you can use a different level. Notifications is…

That's the way to do the alert so hopefully all will be right now for you.

If you can't access the Avaya using SNMP from NPM then you've got an issue somewhere. Either SNMP is not running on the Avaya correctly or there's a firewall or something like an access list in between the NPM and the Avaya.

This is very easy to achieve. Just open Syslog Viewer on your server. Then click on View and select Alerts/Filter Rules Then click on Add New Rule In the Message tab you can configure what to look for and in Alert Actions you just configure the Email option.
-
They must've still been accessible. That's the only way a node stays up. If it doesn't go red on the screen, it means Solarwinds can still see it. Do some testing with him to see if you can get to the bottom of it. Sounds to me that the VM wasn't in fact shut down or you're monitoring something else rather than the VM that…

You need to add in an extra filter to just report on the internet router traffic. Edit the report. Then click on the Edit button marked below. Then add in the extra filter to report on.

Sweeet! I"m still on 11.0.1 but within 2 months I'll be on 12. I just assumed it wasn't around as yet as the feature request is still active. Sorry my mistake.

Report writer has the following where you can change it but as you can see, it automatically changes it to Mbps (maybe that wasn't the case on previous versions) But you've shown "events" to which Report Writer has no bearing. I'm guessing you'll need to change it somewhere in the database. Log a ticket for it.

Then just try my suggestion for the email alert part. Is the trigger condition still set to Interface?
-
What version are you on? I'm on 2019.4 and it is still there.
-
Thanks, I've cancelled them as suggested. Will see what happens. So far my ipam scan job status still looks the same as before.

Which DLL in particular? I checked 2 of mine, and they show 4.6.5300.843

If you just configured ntp server then that should not have done anything. Can you see the router from your solarwinds machine?
-
Just add the code Mesverrum mentions into your email message. It's called html code. In his example he sets the font and turns the text into red. So just add <font face="comic sans ms" color="red"> at the start of your email message. And add </font> to the bottom of the email message. P.S I love your Madness avatar

The link drops due to a carrier issue. Someone could have cut the link or some of the carrier's equipment has issues. In the logs you see that BGP drops its neighbour but the interface still shows as up as carrier's onsite router is still up. So if the remote site only has a single link, the site would be down but when the…

As well as the configs being stored in the database, they are also stored on the Solarwinds server itself. They are stored to the path you've put in under Settings, NCM Settings, Config Archive Folder Locations.

Just thought I'd re-check my services and currently the normal service is on 103Mb and the V3 service is 140Mb. So they have changed over the last few weeks, the normal one went up, the V3 one went down. Do you notice a degration in performance when the memory is so high on those 2 services? How much memory does the server…

There are a few other articles around webpage performance. Do a search and see how you stack up. Otherwise log a support ticket.

Yes you need R/W SNMP access to the device.
-
What you could do is create a report and in the Fields section you have Node Name, IP Address and Status Icon. Then in the Filter Results section you filter on Status equalling Down. Then in your NOC screen (or wherever) you add in the 'Report from Orion Report Writer' resource. Then in the Resource, point it to the report…

Certainly sounds very coincidental. Weird. Let us know what you find from the logs.

No you don't need to make any server changes. So you have an email to SMS service available? If so, then just test it by sending an email to it from your email account. Sometimes this service can be limited to receive email from only certain email addresses. Just check if there are any restriction with the service. But…
