The option in my example just only copies configs if there's a change to the previous version NCM has. So in other words it won't copy the config to NCM unless the config happens to be different. Which if you're using RTCD, then the last saved running config will always be up to date. So then the backup job will not…

Did you get this all working ok? If yes, can you please mark this question as answered? Thanks.

I'm not sure if % is documented anywhere but I believe it's just the same as using an asterisk. Someone else here had made up a few Filters here and they'd used the % instead of *. Not sure why. I'm not a SQL expert.

Then there's something still blocking its path. Do a traceroute to the device and see where it's going and check for access lists and firewalls.
-
The view "List of all VLAN's" need to be added to say the Home or Network tab. I'm not sure how you added the view in IPAM.

You can't modify the 'out-of-the-box' alerts. So you'll have to copy them. But they are good to give you an idea on what alerts you can configure but a simple one like node down, if you use the out-of-the-box alert, you'll get an email with little info. I would custom write your email alerts.

I agree. Loopback address should never change whereas an interface potentially could.
-
Where can I see this feature request? Or is it an internal Solarwinds thing?
-
Only downside with this alerting is that you won't detect flapping links. I'm still using syslog alerts. That way they are instant rather than waiting for the alert to be polled.

Haha, owned!! At least I have an excuse. I'm in bed when the Labs are on. I need my beauty sleep.
-
Sorry, I meant just leave it the way it is working now.

mdecima wrote: The problem is the logic of alert suppression, the alert will supress if it finds condition X, but it will suppress the WHOLE alert. You should delete all in alert supression and manage more conditions in the trigger like this Trigger alert when all of the following apply Node status is equal to down Node…

I get the same and have noticed this on mine but I haven't found a fix as yet

We are licensed. But that's a real oversight if you can't use the Syslog Viewer on the server anymore but then remove all of the functionality on the product that replaces it unless you pay for it?! I need to provide some syslogs for a TAC case and currently I'm unable to do so. So far, I'm not seeing any value in Log…

Craig Norborg wrote: Not 100% sure that will work, using UDT that is. As mentioned already, there's a build in alert that comes with UDT called "Alert me when there is a IP Address Conflict based on MAC address." The message it writes to the event log is "The IP address ${IPAddress} is in conflict. <br />The following…

Yup, under the Configs Tab, you'll find "Compliance". It's easy to use.
-
That's correct. On the main node page I see this The node in question is monitored by polled for VMware. But my second example above is polled by SNMP. Report shows all drives are critical by actual node status shows they're ok. Weird.
-
Do you have the correct statement in your config? i.e "logging server x.x.x.x"
-
Packet loss is only measured at a node level.
-
You could add the node in multiple times with different IP addresses. I've got the same issue as DirtySouth and the only way I've figured out to get an alert is to use syslog alerting. When the link stops routing (but the interface stays up) it logs a message in syslog. I then log an email alert against that message.
-
Sounds like it could be a bug so you should log a case for this. Does everything appear fine once the devices is added into NPM? I too use the node.caption variable (I think it's the Orion default?) and mine all work ok but I've not received alerts for devices that are not in NPM (all my devices are in NPM). I think DNS is…

NCM uses a default credential set but if the switch uses a different credentials to the default one, then you'll need to enter those credentials for each device that does not use the default credentials.
-
Sorry I don't know. Sandeep was asking about NCM and CLI commands. Maybe open up a new discussion and outline what you are hoping to achieve.
-
Sorry I can't remember what the defaults are. Are you running it out of hours, where is the slowness occuring? And how many hops have you got it checking?
-
You should not use Basic Alert Manager anymore. Only use Advanced Alert Manager. Why do you want to use Basic Alert Manager? I'm still running the same versions as you.

I just configured up some SNMP pollers for my UPS's and I found this resource really handy. UPS-MIB SNMP MIB But obviously Solarwinds needs SNMP access to the UPS.
-
Thanks Rach, it works beaut now!

Since the original post dated 2018, Orion was updated to include this function.

Sounds cool! Except I can't see the video as I'm not in the "right" region it says.
