Well no matter what I try, HF2 won't uninstall. I tried the above command and I tried doing it through control panel. Both fail. Any other suggestions?

Sorry for the late reply and all the anticipation. I'm in a different timezone Anyways my poller is the one that I copied here of Thwack so I assumed it was the same as the one you are using. My OID is the same as yours. When I do the test on the OID, not all my Riverbeds work. Some say "The OID is not supported" &…

^^ What he said

Actually I think I found what's happening. I just did another test and I've noticed that devices where the last downloaded config was by RTCD, will download another copy but devices that have not been updated at all since the last NCM job download, don't download another copy. Can you test this out and see what you find?…

I just did a job test of this option on 3 of my devices. When I ran it, 2 of my devices reported "Downloaded and discarded Running Config - no change" and the other one "Downloaded and saved Running Config". So it seems the feature works "just fine" But as I use RTCD, all of them should not have copied. So I compared the…

Then I'm not sure why it's not populating. Log a support call to see what they say.

That's correct. If you have a bandwidth statement, it will pick that up but otherwise it just retains what it had. So lets say you've got a 1Gb connection and you change the custom bandwidth to 100mb, the node will now show a connection of 100mb. Then if you disable custom bandwidth (by unticking the box), it stays at…

Aha! I picked the wrong columns! Now I can see the historical icon. Thanks very much mesverrum for picking that up! At least that sorts one of my problems out But still the data is different between the 2 for Average. I'd love to get to the bottom of which one is "correct" out of the 2 reports.

Totally agree!

Yup if you go into conf t, it will log a syslog with 'Configured from console'. I use syslog for my RTCD and I only get an email if something has actually changed. I ignore the "! Last configuration change" so that I don't get any empty email alerts. Works beaut.

newkidd2 wrote: Finally, as you might have guessed, I would definitely recommend against upgrading to 11.5 at this time. That's why I'm still holding of on the upgrade. I'm still on 11.0.1 and I'll stay on it until I feel comfortable about upgrading. Thanks for you post!

Syslog will give an error on interfaces that aren't monitored in Solarwinds, So if the 2 devices can see each other, won't syslog report the duplicate IP address?
-
What sort of switch is it? What version of NPM? When you do a List Resources on the node, do you see the resources for both switches? e.g. interfaces gi1/0/1-24 & gi2/0/1-24

It looks like we don't have LA but yet in the bottom bar it shows LA2.1 and it shows up in licenses as per my 2 images above. I've logged a ticket for it. It's a shame to have to pay for something that so far seems inferior to the old server application. I understand why it was upgraded and it can now do things the old one…

Go to manage nodes. Put a tick next to the node in question. Then click on Edit Properties. In Polling Method you'll see the SNMP credentials section. Then scroll down. If you have the device managed by NCM, then you'll see the CLI details. But having said all that, in your image above, if you tick next to the device and…

You were correct. I configured report as follows.

No it's still the same, you need access to the PE. I use this method to display utilization (got this from another Thwack member). Works good.

Solarwinds only reports on packet loss at a node level. It is measured between the node and the solarwinds server.

Sorry for being off-topic but are you in The Netherlands? I was born there!

What automated details are you wanting? From your alert, all I see is you getting an email when a serial port goes down. What extra details are you getting over the built in "Alert me when an interface goes down"? Or are you adding in extra information into the email part? This may or may not help but with my interface…

Can you ping the syslog server from the switch? It sounds like the Nexus is configured correctly but it can't see the syslog server.

Good news!

Great news! Can you please mark in "correct answer & helpful answer" (if any) so that this question is marked as answered. Thanks.

Wow can't believe nothing is logged. Have you queried Cisco about it? I'd love to hear their answer. Thanks.

Unfortunately he has not been here since 2017. Best bet is to start a new thread.

Sorry for the late reply, I've been on holidays. Just install the syslog server on your primary Orion server if it's not there already.
-
Are all three switches turned off at the same time? If yes, please post up your dependency setup and your alert rule.
-
That's really weird. Have you tried dragging the group 0_SID into a new map and then seeing what it does? If it still doesn't work, I'm out of ideas sorry. You should contact Solarwinds support so they can do a gotomeeting and check out your setup.

You are missing the ( bracket at the start. Here's the full command again. (Nodes.Status=1 AND (Nodes.MachineType NOT LIKE '%37XX%' AND Interfaces.OutDiscardsThisHour > 1000)) But when I ran it, it dropped my Top 20 down to only 3 entries. It took out devices that are not 3750's such as a 2811, 4506, firewalls (that were…

Have you tried to re-create the whole alert from scratch? It's worth a shot.
