I just downloaded the ruggedcom template from the content exchange which works beaut.. There are 2 versions Telnet - thwack.solarwinds.com/.../105 SSH - thwack.solarwinds.com/.../147

I haven't done this for an ADVA but in the past when I've had to monitor a device I just ran a snmpwalk over the device and then looked through the results to see what I could find. If they've given you the MIB, then you should be able to line that up with your snmp walk. Then just create customer pollers to monitor it.

You would need to use UDT www.solarwinds.com/user-device-tracker

I assume it's passing the SNMP test? If not, then check if there's a firewall inline blocking SNMP. As it worked before? If yes and it's only just stopped working and nothing has changed, then reboot the switch. If it's never worked before confirm (as mentioned above) that a snmpwalk works from your solarwinds server and…

If it's failing on every node, then maybe your server has some issues. Try a reboot and maybe run config wizard. Only other thing I can think of, has there been a firewall installed inline?
-
I believe it's per component that you are monitoring. But just add one server in and look at your license count. And then add more in and see if your license count changes. I have an unlimited license so I've never worried about checking licenses. See here for more details.…

I think you should log a support ticket for this. I monitor my Hyper-V's and all works fine.I do have Virtualisation Manager.
-
I'm not sure if you could do that through application monitoring other than maybe monitoring the event log? I just use the build in Volume alert to alert me on space issues.
-
Create a new SAM template and use Windows Event Log Monitor as the component to monitor. Alert on that.

Create a New SAM template and use Windows Event Log Monitor as the component to monitor. Than alert on that.

Feature Request FTW!
-
Rightclick on the poller and select Label Then pick the table that shows the corresponding names.
-
This problem has been mentioned on here before. Check IOS versions. If they are both the same, then there is a difference in the hardware versions. You could also try changing this setting on one of them.
-
On which view are you adding in this widget? The widget will work if you add it into the view you get when you click on one of your VMware hosts. This works on my setup and I also have Virtualization Manager installed.
-
If you remove the node from NPM, it will also disappear from Virtualization Manager. Vmware hosts all show up as ICMP monitored only nodes in NPM.
-
Go into the alert and check what you have in your trigger and reset actions email. You may just have that number in the email next to the interface name variable. So you may have "${N=SwisEntity;M=Caption} 1" in your reset email and "${N=SwisEntity;M=Caption} 2" in your trigger email.

In regards to creating an alert from a custom poller, this should help. support.solarwinds.com/.../Create-custom-poller-alert
-
Have you tried to remove it from Solarwinds and add it back in again?
-
Does the 2901 that's not polling correctly pass the SNMP test? If yes, then check if IOS is the same on both 2901's. If not, update the one that is not polling correctly.

^^ this is what I do for my slow link devices.
-
That's what it sounds like to me. If you go to "Alerts & Activity" and select Syslog and you see nothing - that will mean that nothing is sending syslogs to solarwinds.
-
There are 2 reports available. "Devices Sending Syslog or SNMP-Traps to Log Analyzer" and "Devices Sending Syslog or SNMP-Traps to Orion"
-
I have mine set to CISCO-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB. But just the other day I had to switch some of my 9300 switches to CISCO-ENVMON-MIB so NPM could pick up power issue.
-
I don't have Log Analyzer so in my version the rules are already in place by default.
-
What version Solarwinds are running? Trapviewer no longer works on the new version. You can see the traps by going to Alerts & Activity and click on Traps. But for full functionality you will need Log Analyzer.
-
Does the chromebox support SNMP? if yes, then look through the available OID's to see if you can find ones that suit your requirements.
-
Unmanaged devices do not send alerts. Are you sure it's the unmanaged device sending you the alert in question?
-
You just need to put in details for a SMTP server that you can use to send the email. Check with your mail administrator for the details of the server and whether it needs authentication or not. Here are some instructions documentation.solarwinds.com/.../core-adding-an-smtp-server-sw860.htm

Use Orion Maps. Here are page to help you get started www.solarwinds.com/.../orion-maps

Solarwinds stopped developing NTM some years ago. Network Atlas has been superceded by Orion Maps. So use Orion Maps
