  • Thanks Lawrence. So I set the Java 7u11 update to Minor and Can request reboot, then let it fly. I had Java 7u11 installed on my entire company network in less than an hour without anyone knowing or being bothered by the update. It was awesome!
  • how frustrating! any idea what number that is in the Version? mine is showing 65.169.102. wondering if solarwinds could possibly contact the google developers to inquire into this issue? if google would like their product to become more prevalent in the enterprise world then they should be made aware this a frustrating…
  • Maybe i dont understand how the common path is working? When batch scripting in windows 7 64bit there are two system variables for program files: %programfiles% = c:\program files\ %programfiles(x86)% = c:\program files (x86)\ because i only saw PROGRAM_FILES in common path i assumed it equaled %programfiles% and thus…
  • I like this. Marking this as helpful as opposed to correct only because I feel the correct answer is a feature request that allows for a installer switch which will keep the folder from being created at the time of install. I really appreciate your time on this David. Thanks!
  • maybe i dont understand what you mean by 'report builder'. i have gone in an created custom reports. however i have to create three. one for system info, one for storage info, and one for graphics card info. when trying to join these three together i get errors, something about mysql, join something. maybe there is a…
  • you are correct. i am running 1.80.778.0. I justed upgraded, and now Version shows 1.80.785.0. Now all feels right in the world... Thanks!
  • That did the trick. I was forced to use /targetwsususessl NO. Thanks David! -mark
  • So my remedy is not working. I am in prereq purgatory where simple things that make perfect sense, don't work at all or have completely unexpected results. I really hope when the next version of flash is released it is well tested with Windows 8 and/or IE 10.
  • got it, thanks!
  • understood. thank you. wondering if these could be set to minor impact and never reboots? do you ever test out the extremely useful minor impact option?
  • This worked great. Using the Adobe Customization Wizard and simply loading all of these files into a PM package was very easy. Thanks for the tip!
  • Very cool. Thank you for the clarification that Prereq rules do not influence Installed rules. I have spoke to support about this, and it seems they themselves did not fully understand that. I had looked at the Dell rules and that is where I go the idea to use the WMI queries and basically and to learn the WQL language.…
  • There is an update to the customization wizard! (first one i have ever seen) ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/11.x/11.0.03/misc/ I am wondering if the bug you found is resolved in this one?
  • Excellent reply! I appreciate your effort and praise your work! I will certainly be doing my research on the patch you mentioned. Thank you for the tip!
  • Sweet, glad I could help! Looks like this is fixed as I recieved an email to my Inbox this morning! Today's Thwack message header: Microsoft Mail Internet Headers Version 2.0 Received: from psmtp.com ([74.125.149.52]) by [removed] with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.4675); Thu, 20 Sep 2012 06:26:25 -0700 Received: from…
  • The program is not a Microsoft one, its Newforma Project Center. I have also found that error a lot, seems pretty generic unfortunately.
  • I don't understand why you have packages for adobe acrobat 9, and adobe reader 11, but not adobe acrobat 11? Why not include adobe acrobat 11 with adobe reader 11 packages? In addition, there is not an 'Upgrade' package for this latest version of adobe reader. However there was an upgrade with version 11.0.0.379. Why the…
  • Adobe Flash 11.5.502.149 was released by the vendor on 2/7(Adobe - Security Bulletins: APSB13-04 - Security updates available for Adobe Flash Player). This appears to be a fairly serious security flaw. Can we expect this to be released to Catalog today? Thanks! -mark
  • I see Foxit PDF Reader is a new addition. Although I am glad to see new software being added, I am disappointed Foxit PDF Reader was chosen over PDF-XChange Viewer. PDF-XChange Viewer has all the features of Foxit with the additional ability to markup and save a PDF. The brings up the question about how additional software…
  • SWEET!
  • LOVE THIS!
  • I appreciate your response. I would respectfully ask going forward such information be shared before it is asked for.
  • 2.0 was released over a year ago (11/26/2013), I think you meant to post 2.1 RC? The truth is not much as changed since the 1.x days aside from branding, os support, and Orion integration... Earlier this year andrewm. created a post asking Is Patch Manager dead? The fact is development on PM has slowed greatly... GREAT…
  • I got this error when trying to use the PM MMC console I had installed on my workstation. I upgraded my PM server with the latest patch which brought my server up to version 1.72.219.3. On my server the patch upgraded both the server and the Console to the 1.72.219.3 version. However when i tried to run that patch on my…
  • Turns out i was looking in the wrong spot. I was looking at hot fixes and service packs, when it was sitting in downloads. thanks though!
  • I have to comment, this went very smooth for me, despite my anxiety about the situation. My only trouble was tracking down all the different information, and organizing it in a step by step process. Below are my (rough) notes from when I did this project last week: KB2718704 - clients and servers - disables certain…
  • I have to concur. Since day one PM has been solid as a rock for me. However I never use a remote console. I always RDP to the server and run the local console just due to better response time.
  • This is VERY frustrating! It happned to me when I upgraded to 1.85: Custom Views reset after 1.85 Update Then again when I upgraded to 2.0.2146.0 View Layouts reset after 2.0 upgrade Then AGAIN when I upgraded to 2.0.2203.0. I am about to upgrade to 2.0.2207.0. Wondering if SolarWinds support would like to get involved…
  • So I just did a 'Computer Explorer' on one of the computers that did not have the 1.8 WMI Provider installed, and when I clicked on 'Software Inventory' I received the following message: Device: edn-ftc-capital.capsac.lan Details: Although we successfully connected to edn-ftc-capital.capsac.lan, we were unable to install…
  • Ive tried it, and it does not work. In addition when applied to adobe installations modified with the ‘adobe customization wizard’, the msp’s do not even recognizing the custom installations. Its really lame, and adobe should fix it. maybe 11.x will work better. -mark Mark Reid | IT Director Direct: 916.851.3592 |…
