Hi guys - any news? We urgently need this in order to work around issues with alerting for WPM. This seems like the path of least resistance.

Full integration with Orion will be MOST welcome. VMAN feels like a bit of a spare wheel at the moment, even when using the Custom HTML resource to pull in widgets to Orion.
-
Sorry, I completely missed your comments. Seems the email notifications are a bit off from time to time... The Custom Properties for Groups would allow me to add WPM transactions to a Group and tailor alerts to be sent to ${Group.Owner} instead of a fixed email address, to overcome the fact that there are no Custom…

ah - thanks!

Loving the sustained thresholds!!

I would also like the option to still poll the component but to disable alerting for it. We have a lot of issues in our environment where response time alerts are triggered for pollers gathering statistical data.
-
Looks like you guys have made some big improvements! I'm just running through the installer now, but have encountered an issue trying to enable collection schedules for one of my vCenters: I'm using the same credentials as for my existing VMAN 5.0 appliance. Any ideas?

<450 node per location support would be nice. Also, would be cool if the map had the option to automatically zoom in on the user's location when logging on. Oh, and some more information on what filter variables are available, so you don't have to consult SWIS all the time. I had to apply this filter to get rid of all Down…

This is now sorted for me by the NOC Views introduced in 10.7.
-
Done! Thanks bmrad.
-
REALLY looking forward to Custom Properties! Please can you make sure these are reflected in AAM as well? Cheers
-
I've created some Custom Properties for Recordings and Transactions, but these have not appeared in AAM. Should they?
-
Any news on this, guys? Lync has now become Skype for Business, but still no VNQM support.
-
Thanks zzz, but I'd prefer to have a custom property for the group object in a future release.
-
Thanks, but I'm not great with SQL.
-
Thanks LGarvin, and sorry about the late reply. I solved this with a combination of Vodafone 3G USB dongle and PageGate in the end, and am now using the GetASCII module of Pagegate to relay messages from NPM to on-call people. As for Alert Central - I'm already on the Beta. Cheers for your help.
-
Thanks LadaVarga, and sorry about the late response. This is from a web report, so I don't know how to display it as a SQL query. Settings are as follows: For: "Service Catalogue" (30+ Groups containing nodes, applications, interfaces, volumes etc) From: Last 30 Days Table Column 1: Name Database column:Group/Name Display…

Hi Michal, Thanks for your response. Please see answers in-line below. Regards, Stefan great input. I also hope you've tried our NPM RC with a new reporting so you don't need feed Splunk ones anymore Yep, I’ve had a little play with this and I like what I see. It just so happens that we have a heavy investment in Splunk,…

Hey Tom, Sorry about the late reply - I never saw a notification for this post. Big thanks for the great investigative work you've undertaken and for the updates. I'll keep an eye out for a fix. Cheers, Stefan

Thanks for the response. This is a weird one. Resource Monitor on the box reckons it's sending 600B/s and receiving 300B/s from our two Orion polling engines, resulting in 7-10Mbps in network I/O. It all seems to be Windows Performance Counter traffic. AFAIK, this is all for one component: Windows Scheduled Tasks monitor.…
-
Thanks Romeo. The bulk of my traffic is CIFS over WMI, but good idea – you’ve set me on the right path! Cheers, Stefan
-
Thanks Zack, and apologies for the late response (don't seem to be receiving thwack notifications atm). This seems to do the trick!
-
Thanks Jiri. I have tried the "Custom Node Table Poller" advanced alert, but it doesn't seem to have that many variable options, and I couldn't find a variable which would return a table. The above is all done with the "Custom Node Poller" advanced alert.
-
Thanks DanielleH, but I don't want to rely on any Exchange or BES infrastructure. I want SMS as an additional form of alerting if there is a problem with emails. Sent from my BlackBerry
-
Hi Michal, Are there any plans for Lync VoIP support? We're considering purchasing VNQM, but this is a bit of a dealbreaker for us. Cheers
-
Hi Pavel, I’m not sure, sorry. I never had this issue. Perhaps someone else on the forum can advise? Cheers, Stefan
-
Hi Mathieu, I used a Multitech MTCBA-G2-EN2-ED-EU Ethernet SMS gateway. I installed Pagegate on the Orion server. Let me know if you have any more questions and I'll be happy to help. Cheers, Stefan
-
Hi, Did this get resolved? If so, would you mind sharing what the resolution was? Thanks, Stefan

Hi Clint, You can do this in NPM with UnDP. Here's an example using Brocade switches: I created the above using four OIDs: 1.3.6.1.4.1991.1.1.3.3.5.1.1 snSwIInfoPortNum Table 1.3.6.1.4.1991.1.1.3.3.5.1.24 snSwIVlanId Table 1.3.6.1.4.1991.1.1.3.3.5.1.17 snSwIName Table 1.3.6.1.4.1991.1.1.3.3.5.1.4 snSwIInfoTagMode Table I…

Did anyone find a solution to this? I've tried creating a web report to do the same thing, and although the functionality is there, the resulting query (when including 30+ Groups) brings the Orion server to its knees.
