The best thing is to issue the following on cisco gear ifindex persist that way it does not reindex the interfaces on reboot. Also I have a problem where interfaces are coming up as unknown state. Solarwinds sees the 6500 fine but not all the interfaces only some.

LOL you know what's funny is we cut and pasted the problem ones and they still for some reason had a trailing space. Once I removed the space at the end it worked. Solarwinds just informed me that the work around is to not filter by regular expressions....make sure it is unchecked and than try to restart the service. I just got mine working by this method

Yeah I got that part but it is still not pulling checkpoint mibs. I opened a ticket and sent screen shots and OID list from checkpoint. Now this is different since this monitors the checkpoint process running on nokia.

 Mark, I just tried changing the port to 260 under the system manager and the node itself, and it does not verify that it works. I checked firewall rules and it is allowed via 260. I tried to use the UDP and browse the MIB tree but that times out as well when it is set to 260.

also another question I have, Is anyone else using the SYS LOG and monitoring switchports that are uplinks, trunks? MAN L2 connectivity ports, such as gigaman? If so how are you monitoring the specifc ports without getting all the ports that go up and down on a switch?

 What they need is an alert suppression like they have in the syslog server portion. That actually works great...I have some set to only page me once unless I get more than 6 messages in 20 min. It cuts down on messages by a ton and still keeps you informed.

aynov, What do you mean it gets tricky if I need to poll on more than one port??
