Has been removed from there, but still appears in the other places.....

Hmm, i did that and is not showing up as expired when i go to configmgr console to look at software updates. Expire=NO. I noticed the task to expire patch failed in Eminentware. Expire Update Package Object: Java Runtime Environment 6u26 (x86 for x64) (Upgrade) Status: Failed Details: Expire update package Java Runtime…

Thank you Lawrence, I was able to follow that and it helped clarify how the task works.

Further on..... Think the package has been published OK, least it is showing in my list of Updates. However when I distribute it I get the following error Download Object: WindowsXP-KB885887_CustomPackage Status: Failed Details: Download failed. A certificate chain processed but terminated in a root certificate which is…

The columns in the computers view marked with the suffix (Approved) are not populated, by default. They are associated with the option to "Calculate approval summaries.." They represent the counts of status for only the update approved for each computer. From the filter bar, all the way on the right side, select the drop…

The only computer that is listed there is the WSUS server. Wouldn't deleting it completely remove the EminentWare management of WSUS?
-
Thanks for the quick response. The last sentence regarding evaluations…this is not an evaluation installation. We are licensed. Does that make a difference or do I need to manually install this stuff every time there is an update?
-
In a SCCM environment would this info still end up back in the WSUS database?
-
Yes, it comes back with the message saying the server has the required certificates for publishing.

John, Thank you for the quick response. I opened the settings on the router I'm using and UDP traffic is passing through. One of my computers is working fine. I think I was just trying to make sure it wasn't a setting in the Eminent Software that might be causing this or if it was the computers in question.

Hi nassimjd, In addition to what Lawrence posted, you will get the 'Request for principal permission failed' if the account you are using is not a member of the 'WSUS Administrators' group on the WSUS server. John

Hi, The Clear Cache and Views option worked a treat! Thanks for you prompt reply. Cheers Darryn

The Adobe Reader v9.4.2 package was released last night. The Adobe Flash v10.2.152.26 was released Tuesday evening. The Adobe Shockwave v11.5.9.620 is currently in packaging and will be available shortly.

The Express Edition (4GB) should be more than sufficient for 1,250 clients. The note in the Deployment Guide is fairly accurate. We have seen several instances of a couple thousand clients (more or less) comfortably existing in a 4GB max SQL 2005 Express database environment. The biggest variables that affect database size…

Hi Jayse24, It will connect to all 100 if you deploy it to the same EminentWare Computer Group. However, if the rules are properly configured for the package, the WUA on the 50 that already have it should evaluate the update as either Installed or Not Applicable. So, there might be some traffic/connection to those…

Hi Patrick, access to 3rd Party Updates is a two-step process. Licensing is one, and access using a valid website user ID is the other. 'pbolt' has now been granted access. Thank you, -tonya

Hi Jeet, 1) yes you can use EminentWare in this kind of distributed environment, however it is a little unclear what the connectivty constraints are between HQ and the DSSs. 2) yes, I would install a EW server at each location 3) On the reporting, you can do all the WSUS reporting (including DSSs assuming you are doing…

We will look into this. Can you try setting the service startup type to 'Automatic (Delayed Start)' -Sean

Give us a day or 2 to test this. I believe it can be done with a simple detach/attach of the database and a small registry change for Eminentware. -Sean

Patch Manager provides a complete toolset for building packages from EXE/MSI/MSP files that can be distributed via WSUS and installed by the WUAgent. Please refer to the Local Publishing Administration Guide, and the two Package Creation Videos (Video1 Video2) for guidance. Message was edited by: Lawrence Garvin…

Hi Brayen, can you be a little more specific with what you are talking about. Are you saying that when you go to the update services view and browse to a Update Server and then look at the unassigned computer group, those machines are not having updates delivered. What do you mean EW isnt being updated?
-
Make sure the EminentWare Data Grid Service is started. If it is not and will not start please let us know what the error code is. Thanks, Sean

Hi kl0957, this is an issue with .NET framework and the System.Management namespace. The bug causes an initial authentication handshake to occur as the service account (and it shouldnt). We are actively working with Microsoft to finish testing a hotfix that will address this issue.

Yes, you need to select the credential(s) that you changed today in the EminentWare Console under the EminentWare System Configuration\Security and User Management and chang the password to match what you changed in AD.
-
I believe your challenge exists as a result of the relationship between management server roles and automation server roles. An automation server belongs to a specific management group. and only the resources managed by that management group can have tasks assigned to an automation server in that management group. Because…

All of the ConfigMgr Client Logs are found in %windir%\System32\CCM\Logs. If the only functionality not working in the Computer Explorer is the ability to retrieve those logfiles, I would suspect that perhaps the ACLs on that folder have been modified -- perhaps in response to "locking down" the ACLs on the %windir%…

Hi, this is a feature request that has been requested. We dont currently filter out disabled computers, however we do plan on adding this as a feature.

Can you please let us know: * 1. Your availability for a Go To Meeting? * 2. If all packages are failing? If not, which one(s) is/are? * 3. Is it a custom package or one from the 3rd Party Updates Pack? * 4. Does the target machine meet the Pre-Req and Applicability rules for inclusion?
