Thanks, this was exactly what I was looking for. Jeff

Okay, thank you for the quick response!

could someone provide some detail here, I'm having the same problem. I can get the Dell catalogs, but not the eminentware ones.
-
Thank you! I found it.

Lawrence Thanks for the reply it was very helpful. I am now having a different problem, I have installed the automation server software on my downstream WSUS servers but each server in the eminentware console has the following error logged in the Enterprise>Update Services screen: - Failed to send partitioned task to…

Is this done inside eminentware or do I need to download wsus 3.2 from somewhere. I guess I am having trouble understanding exactly how EminentWare and WSUS tie together. Thanks Jeff

I have installed the trial version and am having the very same problem. The account I am using is an administrator on every server in the domain. I have ensured that the "Do not allow storage of credentials...." setting in the Local Security Policy is disabled and there is no alias for the WSUS server. I should probably…

And, in the process of editing my reply, I left out the important step . . . Remove the Software Name column from the column list so that the rows will be recognized as duplicate and suppress the extra rows for each computer.

Hi, So I checked the above 1) The update is Applicable. The last reported is today. Google Chrome is listed as Not Installed (Downloaded) - Approved 2) The update is Approved for target group 3) The update is available on this WSUS server, it is the only downstream server and has serfed other clients The Chrome 18 update…

Thanks Lawrence, Resetting the default User Preferences did the trick. I can now communicate with my WSUS server. Excellent response time, btw. I'm impressed. Cheers, ...Duncan

Any plans for server and console on x64?

I just installed the software and i receive the error when starting the console: The attempt to connect the EminentWare Application Server failed. Communication failure The RPC server is unavailable. Details: dgsrpcinterface::smartbind()failed. Even the services is not started and the service account has logon as service…

Hi Addi, Reader doesn't yet have a 10.0.2 release for Windows. Acrobat does. You can view their release notes for the details: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83708/attachments/Acrobat_Reader_ReleaseNote_10.0.2.pdf -tonya

First, regarding your '2010' uninstaller -- it sounds to me like the package is getting to the client, and executing, but either not doing anything, or failing. If the uninstaller has any logging capability, you might be able to get additional feedback from verbose logging. Also, double-check the return codes you've…

For the custom update rules in the Update Management Wizard, when specifying a KB rule, it is not required to prefix with KB e.g. KB867530, rather just the numeric 867530.
-
Thanks, it worked. Now conintuuing the trial.
-
Thanks, that got me going. It was nice finally putting a face to the voice and emals at MMS.

Solution was to reinstall the latest service pack for eminentware on the emientware server and import the packages again from the eminentware server. I was importing them from a remote console and it seemed to do the trick importing the packages from the Eminentware server instead of the remote console. Now, back to…

Is a remote database server supported under the current version of Patch Manager Extension Pack 1.7?
-
Hi, Thanks for the input, I think I might have figured it out. By Creating a gpo and link to the site I can then create a WMI filter that will query the DomainRole in the Win32_ComputerSystem class and match to either the value of 3, 4 or 5 it's a member server or domain controller and will apply those settings.

Hi, Thank you for submitting the file to F-Secure for analysis. Please let us know if a newer AV DB corrects the issue. We use 3 AV scanners: Trend Micro Symantec Microsoft None of these AV scanners detect any viruses.

Sorry, I should have mentioned this is running on server 2003. The normal WSUS console is able to connect from both my workstation and on the server itself. I'll send an email with my availability shortly.
-
Great, thanks that did work.
-
The location of the agent files is on the WSUS/EminentWare server itself. So if your saying that anonymous access is required from the endpoint then that would mean that even if I set the Share/NTFS permissions to everyone/full control it still wont work?
-
I left out the R2 designation but it's what I meant. Thanks.

I am running into a similar issue except that Windows 7 machines are receiving updates and getting installed but they aren't checking back into the server. If I run check for updates on a affected client, it initiates contact with the server and then checks in. Why would Windows 7 behave this way? I have verified all the…

I think you would be talking about port 80. We have 80 and 443 open on the sccm server to communicate with the other servers. I need to verify that the eminentware should be installed on the sccm server not the wsus server. The admin account that we use in sccm is sccmadmin and that is the service account that I used…

This probably isnt required. The main thing is to stop the EminentWare service IF it is on the machine as the WSUS server. This is mainly to deal with issues related to WSUS DLLs and assemblies used by the EminentWare service. One important item is that if you are going to use Third Party Updates, you have to have a…

Hi Everyone, i got a similar problem. If i try to show the WSUS signing certificate, it shows me N/A in every field. Shouldnt it come with standard WSUS installation?

Kelly, I did not add any files or directories on this tab of the Inventory Configuration. As someone that previously utilized SMS 2003, I am used to the .exe information being included in the inventory. I did search and find another post mentioning the use of wildcards is not supported. Would you say that the functionality…
