  • Hi Denny Couple more for your list - These are all Tandberg equipment - although now I guess it's actually Cisco :) Codian ISDN GW 8321 - 1.2.826.0.1.4616240.1.3.8321 Codian MSE Supervisor 8050 - 1.2.826.0.1.4616240.1.7.8050 Codian MCU 8510 - 1.2.826.0.1.4616240.1.1.8510 TANDBERG Video Communication Server - 0.1 Thanks,…
  • I too have a few issues with this since I just upgraded to 9.5 SP4. I've been using the HTTP experience monitors to probe the proxies I have around my offices - the variables dont work for the proxy address which is really annoying - you have to use the real IP of the proxy (this isnt new - they've always not worked for…
  • Seeing the same thing also - seems to affect the Top10 pages and Node Details more than other pages such as maps/APM/NTA. Definately came in since SP4 - maybe some timeout was set too low somewhere... Its very random - sometimes pages refresh and give this message every few hours sometimes they work fine for the days...
  • Hi Michal, is there an RC2 additional poller for this also? Don't see one in the web portal yet. Looks very promising and want to get this going asap! Thanks Sean
  • Most common causes of this type of thing I've seen is duplex mismatch or bad cables. Check that your port speeds match on both sides - eg 10/half or 100/full (assuming this is ethernet) - don't use Auto as this can be problematic on some devices - much better to fix the speed when it comes to router and switch connections.…
  • I had and have been having that problem with the Syslog service not starting sometimes. Seems that for some reason the syslog service wants to be able to access the internet when it starts - Solarwinds told me it only needs to do this once on installation - but I've found that the agents on the servers also seem to do this…
  • I too am seeing this issue - since going to APM2 there are now 3 SWJobEngineWorker.exe processes running at all times now - they are all using between 160-200Mbytes of real memory and a similar amount of virtual. CPU utilisation runs anything up to 20-30% for any one process at times (and other times as low as 0%). Killing…
  • I have a bunch of these too - would be great to get them monitored. I'd especially like to see the channels in use so we can see un-used analogue lines much easier, as well as calls in progress and whatever health info we can get from the box. Thanks Sean
  • Hiya, so can we get the details of how we can add extra tabs? Thats definately something I would like to do since I have several Menu bars that I'd like the same people to be able to flip between them easily because we support many different depts. Thanks, Sean
  • Here's the official Doc on how to do it http://www.solarwinds.com/support/Orion/docs/OrionServerMigration.pdf Good luck!
  • Don't think so - I've been running on SP1 for a while with no issues. I recently upgraded to v7.8 also and it seems tp perform better - I think in part due to the polling engine changes. Sean
  • I see the same performance issue with the Syslog resource on the website. The local Syslog viewer however is very fast - I dont think this is related to the database performance - my "Last XX Syslog msgs" resource on the nodes comes up instantly - seems something more related to the Main Syslog page and how it works. Speed…
  • Good news that syslog and snmp traps are getting worked ok. Have been wondering if bringing onboard the Kiwi stuff would bring extra features anytime soon. I've been especially surprised the SNMP trap console is so basic compared to the Syslog console in terms of alerting/filtering etc - it definitely needs some love! We…
  • Are you guys running with an Internet proxy? I had similar issues - the following seemed to work for me to fix the issues - Add the following to your local hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts 127.0.0.1 wpad 127.0.0.1 CRL.THAWTE.COM if you're running Windows 2000/2003 run - "proxycfg -u" from a CMD prompt to…
  • Hi there - I've just found the same thing in my case with the "Windows Service Monitor" - started after I installed APM SP1... It was fine before that - now when I add a monitor to a server (from an already created template) although the Monitor status goes to UP I get no stats and the overall status shows "Unknown" with a…
  • Nice! I like it - a few minor issues I seem to be having - The syslog search resource doesnt seem to work - I just get a blank IE page appear with no content at all - not even an error msg. I get the same when I try to use either the "msg" or "summ" links in Advanced Syslog Parser and also if I try to change the Time…
  • Actually Dynamic Custom Properties is exactly the kind of thing I was thinking I need these days. We have hundreds of nodes and often people forget or incorrectly set the custom properties fields when modifying or adding new boxes. If I could automatically set Custom Properties based on the node name/location/vendor/model…
  • Hi there, Is there any progress on getting proper Hyper-V support in NPM yet? I've gone from 1 HyperV hosts to 6 in the last month and while I do have access to tools like MS VMM etc I really want to try and keep things under the one roof of Orion as much as I can. Really need the kind of support we have for VMWare but for…
  • When I need to kill this manually - for instance when installing a service etc - I set the Recovery Options on the MMC services tab for the NetPerfMon service to "Take No Action" - that way windows wont try to restart it when you kill it. Note that everytime you run the Config Wizard it resets this to "Restart The…
  • Yep - I've seen the same thing now for quite a while - it seems related to the number of elements being monitored. I had around 10,000 elements on my server and it would take nearly 15minutes - you could see the memory slowly being reduced if you watched it in taskmgr... I recently got the polling engine and offloaded…
  • I have seen the same problem - I see this randomly - This seems to happen when I have a lot of windows open like 5-10 and even then not always. The only fix I have found is the same as yours - restarting IIS. I also noticed the WWW publishing service using up lots of memory - mine goes up as high as 320MB before I tend to…
  • I've seen a few missing vendor icons too - I'm using 9.1 sp5 also. I figured maybe they just weren't implemented and was just thinking about whether I would put a support ticket in or what for them. Ones I've found missing - Tandberg - NetPerfMon/Images/Vendors/5596.gif KCP - NetPerfMon/Images/Vendors/3854.gif Nine Tiles…
  • Actually - scratch that - I realised I hadn't upgraded the NetFlow to v2.1 - after that upgrade everything seems to work now - even without the hotfix installed. Sean
  • I saw web page problems after upgrading to v8.1 - specifically with the Alerts, Reports, Syslog and Events pages. After I tried this hotfix update those pages started working properly - however it broke ALL the other pages (like top 10, node details etc) The error I get is - "Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a0400'…
  • I just installed it - and not only did it reset the entire IPAM summary view back to defaults - it also *deleted* my custom HTML resource that I had created to store some notes in! Doesn't seem anyway to get it back either without recreating the entire resource - I was NOT a happy bunny... It did however fix the licences…
  • Forget it - found it - I guess because it didn't say APM on it I thought it was the old one... RTFM... lol
  • Yeah - I'd love this feature in Orion as standard too! Recently we've been looking at a way to do this using 3rd party products - there's a few on the market that work nicely with Netflow which is a Cisco only thing (although some others do support it). One product I looked at you can integrate into the web page and that…
  • I have the same problem - I have dual win2003 dhcp servers across my region - way to many to make using IPAM to monitor the DHCP service useful. I've given up trying to use it to monitor DHCP scopes until IPAM can handle multiple servers on the same subnets. Putting just one server on didn't work for us since we split…
