Yes If I have generic high CPU alert that works great for my Juniper and Cisco How can keep the same alert and run NCM actions that is different from Juniper and Cisco?

Hi Mark What I try to say is I will like to see more of that type Alerts action that ask for more information from the element in different protocol /sja

All that "add value" should be automatically to enrich the information you get from alerts... SSH/Powershell/WMI/TRAP/SYSLOG what ever to get data to the operator..

Hi I will strongly recommend offload your syslog and traps to other tools. The Orion platform has a syslog and trap server but they are not much scale in them. To filter traps well: know your vendors traps type (by group) & volume of each trap type per hour. when you know the volume and group type. so it's easy to filter…

"The best way to maintain the size of your Traps/Syslog tables" Is to move all traps to kiwisyslog and forward the importent stuff to NPM. NPM is not a SIEM or Log Managment software.

Yes you are right..If world is flat... :-) you can get tied down to one network... if you have a complex network with different stakeholders and different security levels..duplicate ip net.... so you probably have more segments /DMZ that can't talk to all your pollers... That can be overcome with more APE in the right…
