Nope we never took this any further - but its something I'll probably have to revisit very soon when our cyber teams start crawling all over this again

Hi Jiri I have the case reference number 532822. but seeing as the dmp file is 1.7gb I cannot email it. Do you have some other way for me to get the file to you? Regards Simon
-
Yep that is true Kevin. Looks like it will be a delete and resave the new credentials so noone uses the incorrect one when adding a new device under SNMP v3. On another side. On the Manage windows credentials page it list the number of nodes assigned to each set of credentials. Is there any easy way of getting a list of…

Yep. Currently rolling the main poller back to the snapshot before I started the upgrade Lucky I have the snapshot Really need to work out where this all went pear shaped!

The password are in the config, but they are plain text - so anyone getting access tot he file can see them. I will eventaully lock these accounts to being service accounts rather than a current domain account. However I have come across another issue in that Playback player service now stops as soon as I start it after…

Yes I'd found that too, shame that there dosn't seem to be a way to link the alert name into what the payload of said alert is. Oh well back to the drawing board and manually entering the alert name. Thanks @"bobmarley"

Hi Jiri It is the Agent.Service.exe. Its currently running Ok and using approx 600MB. The next time it spikes and we loose comms with this player I will create the dump and log a ticket with support. Thanks for offering your help on this I really appreciate it Regards Simon

9APEs and 1 AWS Nothing to do with cyphers
-
Thanks for confirming that
-
Hi Stephen I have sent you a message which might help you more Cheers Simon
-
Ah OK, thanks Lucas - I think our Account manager is going to raise it as a feature - I will ask them. Just thought it might be something easy that I was missing
-
Thanks LadaVarga

The server has 2 CPUs, but 32 cores in total. There doesn't seem to be any other issues in the DB, its performing a lot better since we moved to the new hardware at the end of the year
-
So I'm right in saying that there is no way to show in Solarwinds, either VMan or NPM/SAM, if an esx host is down (in standby) due to DRS/DPM?
-
Thanks aLTeReGo that looks like what I'm looking for, A little tweak or 2 to group it the component name for a count and it should be exactly what I need. But thanks for the SQL query within the report that gives me a starting point
-
But under SNMP v3 you have the dropdown for the list of credentials you have saved. Surely this should be somewhere in the database and therefore editable. When adding a new device with SNMP v3 you have a list which then populates the fields for the SNMP v3 credentials etc. We are making changes to some of the credentials…

OK Ignore me Our main solarwinds server got itself in a bit of a pickle yesterday. After our support team rebooted it, it all seems to be working fine now. I knew it should be OK working with multiple OIDs on a single device - just couldn't understand why it wasnt working correctly
-
Click OK and it just goes back to the DB selection screen
-
That could well be it, otherwise it will be trying to use the 5-7 local accounts it creates during install.
-
I can do the bulk edit in the DB without issues. What I want is just what you have said. be able to EDIT the information rather than just save or delete
-
HI aLteReGo I haven't tried the local accounts, but I have done a bit more reading and I think this will be the issue as local accounts on our servers do not have access to the internet. Is there any way that we can get the information into the player in an encrypted format rather than in the config file of the player? I…
-
You will need to add your config to SNMPd.config I think. This will include your SNMP version, the community strings and the device IP of the device you want to communicate with via SNMP. Plus you will need to make sure there are no firewalls in the way.
-
Do the devices that are in each of your 'Layers' have unique parts to their names? if so you could use and update query within the Solarwinds database. I know its not the 'Done thing', but you could create the custom property from the NPM webconsole and then run some update query similar to: Update nodes Set…

@"bobmarley" Tried that, it doesn't work

Sean Ok I think My brain has decided to part company with my body!!! After reading what you had written I have finally managed to look back at what I was trying to do and what you were saying. I apologise as you were indeed correct and the alert is functioning as I want it to. I set the alert to email me and I do indeed…
-
Hi Sean The problem I have is with the information that is written to the Perfmon Log - this information being written and alerted on seems to be different to what I have asked it to alert on in the trigger conditions. It is totally baffling as to why it is using a totally different OID/MIB to what I have asked for in the…

Hi Jiri Im still looking into this to make sure its nothing on our systems before logging the support ticket. I don't want you guys chasing red herrinngs if its a system siisue our side Simon

The wierd bit is that the test of the application monitors work. It seems like Orion is hanging at the initial poll for some reason. I think we may have an issue with our main orion server at the minute - waiting for this to be confirmed and it may need a reboot!
-
To start with the initial upgrad to 12.5 stopped RabbitMQ from starting and the RbaaitMQ doesn't seem to be configured at all correctly so wont start. Support said to upgrade the upgrade, but that seems to nowbe stuck in a loop in the config wizard saying there are multiple pollers and just loops nack between the…

Just as an aside, I raised this point as a feature request on the forum Virtualization Manager Feature Requests. Please go to the forum and vote on it. I was told if we enable this ourselves then it would break the support model of Virtualization manager with Solarwinds. Can't believe we cannot monitor this product like a…
