Even easier: https://blog.twitter.com/2012/embedded-timelines-howto If you follow the instructions, this should sort it out for you. They even create the HTML.

Change the setting and then run an IISreset from an elevated command prompt. That should make the change stick. As goodzhere recommended, if the change doesn't help, put the worker processes number back where it was originally

Have you tried running the desktop notification tool software as admin? UAC may be blocking it.

Self fixes are the best kind!

I've submitted a feature request to support my quest to allow UnDP polling for WMI managed nodes: To the best of my knowledge this isn't possible at present, if aLTeReGo advises that it is, I'll nuke my feature request
-
Hmm, even if they are ICMP, Orion should be able to work out they're already in the database! Have you noticed anything else odd with your instance? Are both your primary polling engine and APE running identical versions of all you licensed products? Worth checking, perhaps version mismatches could cause these type of…

Thanks for clarifying that mate. I had feeling that'd be the case, but wanted to check before I knuckled down and recreated them.

Local Admin is quite often 'the default' when you need to be 100% certain of the reliability of any action initiated by said account. Monitoring reliability is generally pretty important, hence SWI recommend the use of an account with these privileges is used when WMI is the polling method. While you could get around with…

Send me a PM with what you need, and I'll help you if I can

You'll probably need to setup a report with some custom SQL to get what you need, shinkuteknik. Have a browse round the tables in the database to get the tables/fields you'd need to include.

No problem bkohls! Glad to hekp

I know what you mean jokerfest! I try to fix it myself, or reach out to Thwack, but sometimes you have to bit the bullet and log that ticket! I've had things resolved in 10 minutes with a support engineer, that I've been scratching my head at for days
-
Ooh, I didn't realise that cmazko! Thanks for clarifying.

That would also work. It's picking it all up from the values of the custom properties from the node that triggered the alert.
-
Alternatively, if you need to keep the default email address as is, but want the alerts to go somewhere different, you could create a new Node custom property and use that in the alert email address field. For example, lets say you create a new custom property called 'AlertEmail'. All you'd need to do is add ${AlertEmail}…

Hi jameslindsay Could you share a screenshot of how you have this component configured please? No need to expand the script, as you have shared it here, but a grab of how the component is configured will help spot any miss-configurations or errors. Also, could you turn on 'Debug Logging' for the assigned template, under…

Sounds like you'll have your hands full!

It's so often the case, that your client will get the cream off the top, and you get your daily/hourly rate, which is often less than 50% of the rate your client bills the end user. Just the way businesses work, especially if you're a consultant. Maybe renegotiate for a higher rate, next renewal?

Thanks Alt, informative as always

Glad to be of assistance mungerman!

Hey jbiggley, the nightly maintenance ran at the usual time (02:15), and C:\Windows\System32\msmq\storage is free of anything untoward. I've not seen an issue like his before. Bit if a head scratcher tbh!

Hey janene16, all services are running and I have a green pop on the Engine Status: I'm contemplating a simple reboot of the services is the first instance, but really wanted to get some feedback from support before I do so. Don't want to lose any valuable pointers post service restart.
-
Well, thanks so much for your help curtisi! Great feedback! That should give me enough information to get this deployed. PaM is one of the modules I don't use that often, so it's nice to have feedback from someone who has obviously used the product before. Any other tips?

If you want a truly unique per user experience, then each user who requires such a view will need their own unique account, they cannot be a member of a group account, as by definition all changes made will apply to all users of the same group (e.g. AD groups, where users are all a member of the same security groups). So…

Thanks for sharing the resolution, OP! I'm curious, had anyone changed the number of worker processes in the SolarWinds app pool previously? I've checked a few of my supported instances, and they all have it set to 1. Perhaps someone tried to speed up the web console and thought adding another worker would do the trick?

Further to Rob's post, more info on Cisco's CleanAir can be found HERE

Go to "settings" then Discover My Network (or Discovery Central). You should see all the discoveries listed. Click on one to see the configurations.
-
That's not unusual. "organic" growth is normal, and I've worked with many deployments that have been in place for many years, and started out when the network was much smaller, hence the nodes were added manually. As new devices were brought online, they were added, one at a time. There is certainly nothing wrong with this…
-
I expect the whole thing will be discarded as part of the database upgrade. What you will need to do is manually record the discovery profile(s) you have, and then add them in once you've performed the upgrade. At least you will have all the settings, so even if only partial settings are lost, you will be able to fill in…

As mraky suggested, the best course of action here is to open a ticket with SolarWinds support via your SolarWinds Customer Portal. You will likely get a much faster response this way. We do our best here on Thwack, but we're just a community of SolarWInds users & professionals, not SolarWinds employees. Although there are…
