I found the MAC addresses assigned to the end points for these <Unknown> in the UDT_OUIReport table. The entries look like: When I look up the MAC online it comes up as Cisco so not sure what is causing it to come up NULL instead. When I search these MAC addresses on Device Tracker they don't come down to a direct port…

So we do have IPAM and UDT running. Have you seen this widget detect anything before? Do you find it useful?

I'm still getting some intermittent experience with the reboot detection on the Catalyst 9300 where I am using the install activate prompt-level none command and it takes about 10 minutes to finished the install followed by about a 5 minute reboot for the most part it is working and now I am thinking it might be a server…

Couple minor problems I can see here is in knowing what configuration will follow the final access list. If you do a start/stop of "ip access-list extended" the final access-list will not be included in the check since there is no "ip access-list extended" after it. So you will need to know what will come after the last…

This should work for you: interface\s+GigabitEthernet[0-1]/[0-1]/0\.5\s+

This condition is normal for the first SNMPv3 packet to initiate the conversation: There is something interesting on a Wireshark capture, from the NTM device to the network device, fields indicate that information is missing: msgAuthenticationParameters: <MISSING> msgPrivacyParameters: <MISSING> The response from the…

What scan are you referring to? Are you using Orion Maps? My understanding for Orion Maps is that its leveraging the NPM scanned data. So it shouldn't be scanning it separately from NPM. There is a setting on how often you want Orion to calculate the topology using NPM data which I believe is 2 hours by default. A manual…

Depending on the software version you are on you can run 'install activate prompt-level none' I believe this will get you past any issues where you have to say yes to confirm the reload etc.

I also opened a support ticket with Solarwinds. We ended up moving the repository to C:/sftp_root We also changed the copy command to: copy ${TransferProtocol}://${SCPServerUserName}:${SCPServerPassword}@${StorageAddress}/${SubFolder}/${NewImageName} ${NewImageSlot}${CRLF}${CRLF}dir ${NewImageSlot}…

Just confirming for anyone interested. I used the custom poller application from the server directly and applied it to all Ruggedcom devices. After I created a report on the custom poller and the serial numbers were 100% available + accurate.

I think I found the problem I am running into. In the Maps.Edges table there is only one row for each map or project. It will include the 4 values you mentioned reflecting two nodes and two interfaces related to the map however it doesn't include all of the nodes on the map which there might be 100 nodes on a map so these…

The search function you wrote works for me on your query I think I am just having trouble incorporating it to how I wrote it a bit differently. Maybe I will need to try and adjust your query differently because how I wrote mine might be limited in what it can do. One thing I am noticing with the query you provided is it…

The link goal is resolved. I finally understood what your query was doing for the link and adjusted my query to: SELECT TOP 100 p.DisplayName ,concat('http://***IPOFSOLARWINDS***/ui/maps/viewer/', p.ProjectID) AS [_LinkFor_DisplayName] ,n.Caption ,n.IPAddress FROM Orion.Maps.Projects AS p JOIN Orion.Nodes AS n ON…

Wow! Thank you for all the help already! Indeed I got to a usable point but looking to make some upgrades I'll post any progress I make and if you are able to assist that would be very much appreciated! When I ran your latest query I got: Not sure if the ProjectID column should have had URLs or not it seems this was the…

Well I thought not... I had checked through SNMP MIB view to look for the serial number under the manufacture specific OID and not found it in the past. Not sure why I didn't do an SNMP walk instead. I exported an SNMP walk and found the OID I need 1.3.6.1.4.1.15004.4.2.3.1.0 It doesn't seem to poll this serial into…

Thank you very much for introducing me to a Widget I hadn't used before. NCM search is definitely a useful addition to the toolbox! I can easily search it for a serial number and find the device which has it in the configuration and it was a lot faster than I had expected as well. The only issue I see with the solutions…

Hi Sja, Is it possible to show the serial number in a report if we collect it through this method? I am wondering where this serial number output would get stored in Solarwinds. Inside the configuration backup file? Also wondering how to access it. The CLI access doesn't have a command that only outputs the serial number…

I have run into this issue when the file being installed is a tar and not a bin file and when using the install command via TFTP. Since it unpacks the tar file the verify should be run on the bin file and not the tar. As a result the checksum will be different. If this is causing you issues you can replace ${NewImageHash}…

Could be a great move and what you say makes sense to me with my limited knowledge. I was just looking for a discussion if any others had concerns and if they did how they may mitigate the risk. There may be no risk and this isn't meant to be an attack on any product or service. Its great to have insight from both of…

I see that SK_Dave already has though again I would recommend more details to be added to it maybe. (1) NCM: Firmwareupgrade template for Cisco Catalyst 9000 series - Feature Requests - Network Configuration Manager (NCM) - THWACK (solarwinds.com) Not sure why you wouldn't be able to do post verification already by…

Why are you having trouble with post update verification? Probably we need to submit a feature request but first we should narrow down the details. (+) Add Idea - Feature Requests - Network Configuration Manager (NCM) - THWACK (solarwinds.com)

Can you post some more details: Screenshots or copy output of what you have created currently, helpful for context of where we are starting. Desired outcome from the per node variable, maybe there is a different way to achieve what you want or it will provoke some ideas how to solve this. I don't know the answer yet but…
-
Maybe true but definitely not a solution. A work around is to not allow the firmware upgrade template to auto-detect the old firmware path. Instead for the delete firmware field enter in the neccessary commands to delete any potential old software file running on the valid machine type. Assuming that the machine type to be…

Did you have any luck with this? I have created so many rules, policies, etc. Wondered about why there was no export and import option many times. Would love to hear from anyone if they have successfully reduced the work load on setting up or modifying the policies the GUI is great for doing a few but once your in the…

Hope it works out for you! It would be great if they updated their documentation. Maybe someone will be able to comment and provide more details.

Do you know if there is anyway to format the font like Green for correct version Red for not? I tried html tags and it doesn't seem to be working. To be clear the above is a full solution worked for me and really happy with it and excited to start using this "Custom Query" widget more often! Just checking to see if there…

This looks awesome! Apologies for the noob question... What type of custom widget can I put this into? I tried copying it into a custom chart using it to select the data source. I also tried a custom html widget. This is really helpful, I just dont know the basics how to use it.

I think you can modify a firmware template to achieve this. Haven't tried this on a C9300 but here are my thoughts. I copied a firmware upgrade template and modified it to work for the cgr-2010 switch module (GRWIC-D-ES-2S-8PC) The upgrade section which normally copies the bin file over can be repurposed like so: archive…

I have had issues when using string type for matching. Regex never fails for me for matching properly. If you need a converter and aren't familiar with Regex you can try this: http://www.regexlab.com/wild2regex I like wesleykparker approached to have one Regex to match both though I haven't done this due to limited…

Our APE is on the same domain so can't answer for sure, our servers are domain-less. I believe it works in our case because both servers have matching local user accounts/passwords. I think it would work for you so long as there is IP connectivity and the user account running orion has access to the file store. One concern…
