i don't understand companies that don't invest in their people...employees can make or break your company, whether you employ 1 person or 1000 people...they are your most important asset...

i just wish my team would stop being "Accidental DBA's" and I can hire a proper one...although they get all the training they desire (and more if I push), it's definitely not the same.

I'm still not convinced internet access is consistent enough in remote areas (aka, GREAT WHITE NORTH) for me to trust application availability...

One thing I'm always getting - "we're too busy, we need more staff". I respond with "busy is not a business case...bring me the data that supports your comment."

How often do you do staff education? I find that it doesn't matter how many times you try to educate end users, they never listen...until they're hacked.

Don't know about travelling to Ohio...I think all travel between october and april should be south of the equator...
