I haven't done it, but a trap should work as well. You will have to look at the RTCD rule on the syslog view and use it as a reference for the trap rule. My lab is all expired so I will have to rebuild , or I would try it out.

I'm not at my desk so I don't know it off the top of my head, but it was in %programdata%/solarwinds/atlas/ or solarwinds/logs/atlas or somewhere there abouts. I didn't delete the log file, just the contents. Not sure if it makes a difference but just wanted to clarify.

I actually would have thought that Chris's would have been mo better. after looking at mine, it would allow any combination of each octet.. meaning... 1.2.3.4 would work, but so would 5.2.3.4 as well as 1.10.11.4 and so on ( i think). You might be ok using mine, depending on your IP structure, for instance, most people…

In order to do that, you would have to add ICMP only nodes. For instance, -RouterA has 2 interfaces * fa0/0 = 1.1.1.1 * fa0/1 = 2.2.2.2 add routerA as SNMP node to get the overall status and SNMP details of the device (loopback interface preferably) then add routerA_fa0-0 as ICMP to track that interface then add…

Of course it makes a difference. I want to know what LUN my VM's vmdk is running from so that I determine if performance degradation is slow because of disk problems.
-
well that's disappointing. thank you for the info.

look at your manage agents list in All settings and run a report the agents. There might be an issue with the agent install (even though it seemed to have gone fine). You want to make sure that all the sensor plugins are there. mine have the following See if you are missing any.

I'm getting the same. I was working fine this morning (7 Mar 17) and now I can't get back in.
-
I don't think it's normal. I would verify your module versions. That seem to fix it for me.
-
So, looks like a version mismatch on the APE (NCM) was causing my issue. Once I upgraded, they dropped.
-
Good deal. I'll see what I can find. Thanks
-
Ashley, you are correct. I would use the distant end's tunnel source IP ideally.
-
If you don't have NTA, you can use net flow (solarwinds has a free net flow analyzer). (trying to remember off the top of my head) If you just want to figure it out for this one instance, you can use the free dealio... send the net flow data to a laptop and see what's going on. But for a more robust /permanent solution,…

mbird is it just with O365? Does the google path work?
-
I'll give that a try. Thank you.

I believe SAM has a specific component for "Is process running" to do just that. I am preparing to implement it on a third party custom application we use. From everything I have read, it can do just that.
-
You pretty much answered my question. I did some digging in my lab as well as the googles and found that what I am looking for is not possible with NCM. Our current branch office audit process is very man-hour intensive. -Technicians login into every device at a branch office (and servers, but I'm focusing on the network…
-
I completely scratched all of that. after further investigation, it's not even possible without separate DBs. At this point we are going with single server (beefy) with NPM, NCM, SAM and VNMQ, with several APEs tied together with 2 clustered SQL servers (beefy), SYSLOG and additional web. I was just concerned with…

I know this was a while ago, but did the path ever change, or was it always the same?

yet another bump. We are unable to monitor all of the data from the netapps (no snapmirror, no snap vault, etc...). Also due to the inability for SRM profiler to monitor cluster mode, I am losing faith that this product is worth the hefty cost.
-
Integrated with orion and SRM is integrated. I thought there would be more visibility in the relationship between the virtualization world and the storage world. I am able to see the storage relationship from a VMs perspective, but not a virtualization perspective. I would like to see the the mapped storage from the…
-
Yes, it's already integrated.

same here. The only thing I have found that helps (not very much, but some) is to login to atlas with an Orion account, not AD. Other than that, we are all in the same boat. Please revamp Atlas. Complete overhaul. it is just too clunky. It really seems like the red headed step child of the whole suite.
-
I'll have to ask my guy. We were working through some other issues and I think this got lost in the process. We did put in a ticket because cluster mode on the netapps wasn't showing serial numbers and the SRM devs said it was going to fixed soon, I don't know if the difference in the reporting numbers was part of it.

I'm using IE.. and in the environment that I'm in, IE is the only authorized browser. So even if it did work on firefox or chrome, it won't help my users.

tdanner Is there any roadmap for developing key, token or cert based auth for the API we can use from python? Thanks

that looks like a step in the right direction. I'll check it out. Thank you mesverrum

Serena, Thank you for the quick reply. Just so you know, I had a huge, very detailed message all typed up and accidentally hit the back button!! So this is my second attempt to reply We have a pretty good size enterprise consisting of approx 100 sites several thousand nodes, and more than 10K interfaces, managed by about a…

not network drives, the virtual hard disk and it's mapping down to the SAN.

It maps your VMs to Storage.
