I have NPM 10.7 with one additional poller. The primary is pretty much pegged already for CPU/MEM, can I Install NPM on the secondary NPM Poller and take advantage of the integration?
-
Sweet! That is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

Thanks, Are there any OID's I can watch on a SQL or Exchange server that might be useful? (I don't have APM....yet)
-
Not sure what you mean exactly. If you mean like facility wise, these are up in our operations center monitoring room. If we have a major outage they know right away which rack they need to go to.

Do you need to be running any certain version of ESX? We are using 2.5.5 and it doesn't seem to be working for me. I performed the sql update above and when I check the ESX servers node details view, nothing new showed up. I manually added the ESX Server List to the Node Details View and I get a website error when I try to…

I can add other stencils in the rack and it saves ok as JPG, just the stinkin' Cisco ones won't save as JPG or PNG. We all runn Visio 2000 in this office, I bet you are right, the issue is I'm using newer stencils on older apps. Thanks for the help guys.
-
That may be the issue, unfortanltley I don't have access to any newer releases of Visio yet. I ended up just using a screen shot of my visio diagram and then saved it out as JPG from there. Thanks for the ideas. Maybe this will get me a new copy of Visio =)

Here is the JPG or PNG, both look the same

I think it was a problem using the thwack-light layout. I changed to Dark and it works.

SP3. I can't upgrade to 9.5 due to the SQL server requirements.

This one....

I downloaded a script that Gob put in the content sharing zone to add the double gauges. My Tempager doesn't report back temperature to a decimal point like yours is doing. I get whole numbers all the time, so I'm not sure how to format that correctly. You may want to check how you setup your custom MIB poller, I used Rate…

Thanks for the advice. I tried to save as png and had the same results, blank areas where my Cisco Routes are at. Are you using the icons from Cisco's website ? Here are a couple screen shots of what I'm talking about. The first is my visio diagram and the second is the result when I save as JPG or PNG
-
Will do, thanks.

I saved it as a JPG. I can import JPG's into MapMaker. Mine's not really a bug with MapMaker, more of why the Cisco Icon's won't show up in a JPG.

I did find this in my EventsLast2Weeks.csv diag file: 83086,"3/17/2008 2:28:34 PM",,3,,,False,,Z 83085,"3/17/2008 2:28:34 PM",,36,,,False,,Y I'm thinking that the 3 and 36 are Node ID's. Any way I can track down what those are associated with?
-
Did you ever get a resolution to this? I've got the same problem.
-
Did something happen to this link: http://thwack.com/orion/OrionThwackResource.aspx It stopped working for me
-
Is that going to be a stand alone product or built in with APM or NPM?
-
I didn't really like they way they integrated it with Soalrwinds. I ended up just putting an iframe page together and setup a view in Solarwinds for it. It worked out pretty well for us. Also, just fyi, I asked my solarwinds sales rep about the licensing of APM, and he told me that the ORION license is not tied to the APM…

I don't see any events from today's date in there. Anywhere else I can look in that diag file? Here are the last dates and times in the eventlogs/solarwinds.csv Error3/16/2008 9:07Error3/16/2008 9:07Information3/16/2008 9:07Information3/16/2008 9:07Information3/16/2008 9:07Warning3/16/2008 9:07Warning3/16/2008…

I have this issue with servers frequently, particularly Unix. Whenver they reboot a server it assigns it a new Ethernet name, so the old one goes to an unknown status. Not exactly the same issue here, but similar. I just created a report that runs daily that queries for any devices with an unknown status....something like…
-
Yep, you have the old version, now they call it APM.

You can monitor the printers with Orion instead of APM if you prefer. Use the UDP and setup a poller to OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.16.5.1.2.1.1 This is one way to do it, I'm sure there are others. This OID monitors the display currently on your printers. Then you can setup alerts to look for certain displays. I've attached a…

You could also use this....

Thank you! Last question, how did you get the status to report back as "OK" instead of a numeric value? I get a value of 2 when I poll for the status.
-
Have you made any rack diagrams using Cisco's Stencils? I tried w/ Visio 2000 and when I save it as a JPG the rack shows up but the router images are not there. Just wondering if anyone else has has seen that or knows how to fix it. Thanks

You can also run your SQL query in Excel. What I did was setup the reports I wanted in Report writer, then displayed the SQL code and copied it. I then opened up Excel, clicked on the DATA menu and selected Import External Data, then new database query. From there you select your Solarwinds database and waalaa. Paste your…
