Did you ever get this sorted? We use IP SLA for this. For BGP issues you will see Zero latency (would be nice if there was such a thing) and that is what we use as the trigger.

Not had this issue yet, I am in the process of bringing up 3 additional Web Servers (AWS), total of 4 AWS. the link that I give my users is http://orion01.domain.com But I have had problems between the primary and AWS you may want to dig into the use of this table, not sure it may be just for links Not Sure But like I…

Not sure if this would - We use this type of thing for network devices, We create a "script" that is run at the command prompt of the device. The output is then save to a file. Then we create a job to be run against the selected nodes and schedule as needed. We do this via NCM not sure about other modules. I would think…

Sorry just saw this request, not sure if you are still looking for information - emailed current environment stats

Thank You - HUGE Help.

The issue that I have found with the additional Web Server is that when an alert is sent the link within to view the "issue" always point to the primary poller and the users then start using the primary poller and NOT the additional Web server. I am still trying to find a way to provide the link to the WebServer and not…

Thank you for the info - "Force a Rediscovery". I thought that was what was needed but wanted to check. Also I use your widget as part of our default view!
-
Sorry - I what I was asking is how other does Orion/NPM/NCM collects the information. Is there a way to force a collection?
-
Would you know what would "force" a CDP pull from a device? Or would you know how often the CDP is pulled? I have a pair of devices, one the CDP report works and the other there are no results. Both are the same type of device. Any information would be of help.
-
Thank you for the response - I'll look into the other doc.
-
Craig - You seem to be the CDP guy, I am hoping you can help. First of - I use your CDP Neighbor "widget" it works Great (Thank You by the way) and I do filter out the phones. So here is my problem, I need a report of CDP neighbors that are NOT managed by Orion. We have both NPC(12.01) and NCM(7.5.1). Global Network and…

I use a map of the office that I want to see. Create a map for an office. Add the map to you "US Map". You can select the graphic for that object. This works well for my environment but there is an issue with the bubble up of interface issues. If this way works for you I can share the work around for the issue. I hope this…

BUMP!! I am now up to 40 Aruba JL074A 3810M all of which are at least a 2 stack. There is no support for this switch other then very basic!
-
Just a quick question - What type of devices are you looking to inventory? IOS and IOS-X there are out-of-the-box reports. Running inventory job should populate the information. Nexus devices are not currently supported for inventory. There is a "work around" using UnDP. If you check on THWACK you will find a discussion.…

Not sure is this is what you are looking for. Here are couple of of Trigger and Reset Email action where we use variables. NOTE - The variables change with the Object Type these two one is for an interface and the other is for a Node. =========== TRIGGER ACTION =========== ORION ALERT: HIGH ${N=Alerting;M=AlertName} BREACH…

This works great for monitoring circuits that are "burstable". With many of our circuits, we have "purchased" a set amount of bandwidth but which are able "burst" over that set amount. To that end we monitor for the purchased amount but configure for the bust amount. Example - Circuit 10/100, The purchased amount is 10 meg…

I have tried to recreate maps in Orion Maps and have not been able to get the detail and formatting that I can get in Network Atlas. Also I am unsure if I can display custom properties I have tried to recreate some of my maps and ended up very disappointed with the results. My biggest issue is with the ability to control…

I would like to thank everyone for their help and suggestions. The solution I implemented was to create group for the WAN routers in each Office and then create the dependency of the office to the router group. Following a naming convention I then created an alert rule for the status of those groups. NOTE - The Alert…

"The latest release, currently in RC (ORION PLATFORM 2019.4 - ORION MAPS RC (NPM Forum) , takes this to a whole new level, where some users feel they no longer need Network Atlas. Atlas will eventually meet its' end, but we still have a bit to go to cover everything it afforded our users. We will see how the next release…
