4 Years later... any update on this?
-
Absolutely, in fact we've been testing the agent in a lab on a domain controller. The issue is these domain controllers are customer owned yet to meet SLAs we need to monitor them. However to deploy the agent we do need admin credentials which our customer isn't so willing to hand over for a domain controller. There are…

3 year bump on this request!!!!

markobrien, what I did was left the UnDP at Raw Value, Enumeration and GET NEXT. This allowed me to create the advanced alert and key off the enumerated value rather then the integer. To display in the web, what I did was based off of what mesverrum suggested, and that was adding the universal device poller chart…

A year later and still no domain authentication available, are you able to provide us an update on this feature request?
-
Looks like I cant attach things that aren't a picture, video or link? But I did create my first content post with the Universal Device Poller and the Advanced Alert that I used to trigger off that poller. I set the poller to alert when the InactiveReason is something other than "other" which would mean the link is down and…

TheG0at Not a problem, let me figure out how I can export it, and I'll post it later today.

pratikmehta003 no apologies needed! This has got myself and our network team scratching our heads but I think we have several internal process issues going on among other things. And SolarWinds support wasn't exactly a big help - they suggested deleting the interface!

Correct aLTeReGo The excellent tech, Will, that got assigned to us found out pretty quickly that our rabbitmq queues were getting severly backed up. We didn't re-run config wizard just because - it was in an already broken state but we did end up running it due to a previously failed attempt during a SAM upgrade to 6.5…
-
Thank you! The time zones were actually one of the first things the technician looked at and we saw that one of our pollers was on GMT when all the others were on EST including the DB. I've since fixed the GMT poller to EST but unfortunately that did not solve the problem. I did notice though that the perfstack…

Sorry! meant that as a response to neomatrix1217

mesverrum, I took a different approach to this, but I did mark your last response as correct since you helped me through the process. Again, thank you for your help!

Rebooting services did the trick and I now see the custom property I created available in the select variables box. Whats weird is I still see description as a custom property. Why is that weird? Because I deleted Description... But at least I got what I was after.
-
Now if we could only get feature requests to core products done this quickly!
-
Yup, you're right - the polling engine cant poll every device on the second every second or it would choke. So my screenshot was just to illustrate aligning the eval freq with the polling cycle. In the above example, we trigger only when the component goes critical which is why you see the alert trigger ~15 min after the…

I've had one open for over a month now, my case is 41176. Can you do the same for me as well? Thank you!
-
I can see all historical data just fine. As soon as you hit the real time poll button the data completely dissapears. We're on 2017.3.4 SP4
-
Hi gert, yes, it would be helpful to see what your query looks like; could be something really obvious as is the case with me almost ALL of the time, LOL
-
thank you! designerfx Going to try this now
-
Oh wow, an LB just seems like overkill, won't be doing that for sure. Virtual hostname it is, thanks for your help.
-
HOLY SMOKES mesverrum that did the trick! I guess I was making it too complicated which I tend to do... I was thinking that setting required separate sections and that if X amount or more of those sections evaluated true is when you got a single alert. I didn't know it applied to a single section! Now it makes more sense.…

Thanks for your reply. Yea I'm not sure this is the best approach either and we ended up scraping baselining anyway. We have 14 exchange servers to monitor and ended up deactivating base lining for the 4 templates we're using (which was an enormous chore in and of itself - 114 components * 14 was a lot of clicking... curse…
-
No worries. I think I could've bottom lined my question a little better. I think I should have said my root problem was that I couldn't get or key off of enumerated values from a Table poller. (I am able to get the enumerated values, regardless if I use Get Table or Get Next from within the UDP Test function.) I initially…

is the {0} a variable from the dataset? meaning is it the data that is returned from the column?
-
Holy smokes thank you this is awesome! I'll take a look at python. I thought I had tried curly braces before but I was using your example from another post actually where you showed brackets, but I was trying everything, brackets, curly braces etc... didn't catch that comma mistake though, its always the little things...…

You should be able to pass the name of the device similar to how Ive done it in the configuration item field of the create a service now incident action. You would just add additional filtering for that interface.
-
Ok, I see what you were referring to. Yes I understand that part. I think you're right, I'm planning to bounce services later today. Hopefully that solves it.
-
To clarify, here is an example of what I'm talking about. On a Cisco Nexus 6000 switch: This interface has never been up. I don't know why the network team has it like this, but it is what it is. The "AutoClearAlertIntervalInMinutes" in our solarwinds is set to 14400 or 10 days. The interface downs for this interface: 1.…
-
I appreciate the feedback, but I think my original intent has been lost in the noise here. I was just simply wondering why that setting even exists and how it relates to the problem of interface down events on interfaces that have never even reported UP in the first place.

aLTeReGo if you're watching, tell Will to get off his laurels and work on my case! 57875
