Naw, knowing how government and big business have less than efficient reputations, some folks might say "inevitable." Personally, I'm favorably impressed when I see effective and efficient designs and implementations in big business and government.

You all are awesome. It's sweet to find a problem in a hint or set of answers, scratch my head before committing to an answer, and then come here and find I'm not alone in the discovery that the question or the answers aren't build appropriately. DanielleH, read the comments for 11/15 and please adjust the radio buttons…

I really want "easy buttons" for things, and I want them to be secure and inexpensive and powerfully good. But folks assumed Panama was a good place to hide wealth from legal taxation; there's one parallel to "The Cloud" that proved easy is not equal to secure.

The comment for a correct answer to Question 9 almost reads like an FBI report submitted to Congress Instead of blacked-out redactions, there are characters that don't make words. What a tangled web we use, with different browsers and web-page-building software interpreting things in unexpected ways.

Excellent planning! I love the forethought and preparation you practiced to help you achieve your goal. Just let them TRY to force that nasty math clock on you! (Tongue firmly in cheek, I enjoyed your comment!)

When the answers have circles in front of them, only one can be correct. When the answers have square boxes, check all that apply.

So how are you all monitoring Cloud application / service performance? I got a list of a dozen or so *.fqdn names from Microsoft for O365 access through our firewall. I plugged as many as I could into NetPath, but I doubt this is highly useful, since it's "star".fqdn, and all NetPath can manage is the .fqdn. Are you using…

I just upgraded to the latest versions of NPM/NCM/NTA (20170927). If anyone would care to tell me where the MIB database file is, and its name, I'd be happy to look up its file size to compare against the MIB file sizes listed above. Just to see how big it is, if it's grown . . .?

Thanks for the report, and thanks to all who mentioned difficulties and work-arounds!
-
That's pretty much exactly what we already do. Thanks.

Bump!

I wouldn't be surprised to see RF Disruptors or Jammers used to mess with other delivery drones--especially in college campus areas. More impressive (and equally unsurprising) would be finding college kids discovering ways to hijack drones' remote control, maybe disable their GPS and cameras remotely, then take over the…

If NPM and VNQM supported NXOS on Nexus 7009's, no fear would there be!

How about T.G.I.B.D.? Thank God it's Bump Day!

That's a good one. It appears you're clicking too low, on the "Actions" drop-down. Do you have a "Create" dropdown above it? If you're logged in, and don't have a "Create" option, it's time to talk with some of the Thwack staff about why it's missing for you.

That was required reading in my house--a wonderful set of explanations!

This sounds reasonable to me.

I, too, have yet to find the functionality in the Web UI that I used in the on-server application. But I'm pretty confident it's there--I only have to learn how to access it. Still, the app UI on the server was intuitive, and I spent the last few years developing the skills to do what needed to be done through that…

Thanks for the clarification--I modified the comment to accommodate the updated info.

Another network you: * Don't own * Can't secure * Can't work on personally to get it running when it's down * Can't prove no one else has logical or physical access to it * Will be responsible for monitoring, without budget or tools * Will receive Help Desk tickets about, although you can do nothing to correct its issues *…

Phishing Attack Simulator? Hmmm . . . I'm for it if it only teaches people safely how to recognize phishing e-mails. But the simple description of it seems like a platform on which people could learn how to create successfully phishing expeditions. I'm not for that. Not at all. There's only one kind of fishing expedition…

Question 2. "I'll give it to you . . ., technically . . . " They did not give it to me, despite the "technically correct" answer being provided. Disappointment. I guess they "gave it to me" in a different manner.

Here's a Five-Year-Bump for a good idea. Although there are only 251 votes for this, I'm hoping it can become a reality before I retire.
-
I'd forgotten some of those things--thanks for making it all happen! I'm better off for the things SW and Thwack members contribute.

Without giving away today's answer, I totally would have missed it without digging into the Hint. That's because our System Admins have a policy about how long backups can be stored before they are automatically deleted. Three days is all they're kept--unless we make specific request for an extension. Otherwise we might…

RDS in the cloud? What'll they think of next?

Oh so MANY things I wish I'd known before I started managing servers! In no order, and with no guarantee this approaches a comprehensive list: * In a public school environment, ensure every drive and SAN space is locked down with proper AD rights. I found in short order that high schoolers browsed district servers and…

Truly, the churn that happens in this mission's comments before I make it to the mission questions causes me to be more cautious, think and rethink, read and reread, use common sense and then throw common sense to the winds. And then come back to common sense--but only sometimes! Sadly, I've come to take deviant…

I'm hoping for big positive impact from GDPR, and for all countries and businesses to participate. Yes, I'm naive. But if you had a choice about doing business with a company that complied versus knowing another company does NOT comply, the world is relying on your common sense. Take the secure option.
