NTA discovers the traffic on my 5508 WLCs without issue, and I can drill into the conversations to see what type & which devices are the end points.

bharat9286 I think many of us would be interested in seeing your final script; would you be willing to post it here in the working form?

Well, you've found the problem: As far as I know, there is no "the agent can go to my hardware and just find for this characteristic and write what ever result on the AMT custom property field" functionality. But you've come to the right place for requesting help. I recommend you also open a Support Case with Solarwinds,…

That "pat" reply is partly due to fast keyboarding skills that were enhanced by years of piano lessons. The other part is practicality. I've provided that basic information to others previously, and I talk with Support frequently enough that I have spent time trying to minimize time and maximize efficiency. That process…

If I only had a week's vacation in Bora-Bora for every time I've called Support and successfully reduced my frustration and time to resolution by using this process. ;^)

There's a local SQL server in each region--no WAN traffic except for reporting stats to the main NPM instance. My apologies for not making this clear previously, and thanks for calling it out.

I have a number of Nexus switches. "Term width" is allowed:

I'll humbly defer to SQL or SWQL masters like njoylif and rgward or Bedrich.Michalek or jspanitz. If you ask them your detailed questions, you may find good help at hand.

Perhaps the most complete way to determine what flavors of Netflow are fully supported on your particular hardware and its version of IOS is to open a TAC case with Cisco. Once they have the "show inventory" and "show version" from your equipment they'll be able to point you toward the right documents for configuring…

We've had to move away from the idea of "best of breed" and move towards fuller integration, so it's getting to be more and more Cisco hardware, from UCS chasses hosting a LOT of servers/apps to wireless Access Points, to Meraki home networking to work, to all our switches & routers. When I looked at Palo Alto, I liked…

You'll need a different command to show the MAC address, which is why it may be helpful to create a report or create a policy. You might also have some good luck working with Cisco TAC to learn what commands may be available to meet your needs in a single-line format. I'll be watching to see what you come up with; it's an…

That looks like what I use to connect NCM directly to ASA's. But it doesn't apply to FirePower configuration, which appear to only be available via the FirePower / FireSight console admin GUI. Are you using the above settings to backup FirePower/FireSight, or just ASA's?
-
Your capture seems to show one-way traffic only, where I'd build it to show two-way traffic, to enable you to see the response--or lack thereof. Remember that snmp uses both UDP 161 and 162, for sends AND receives.

It's time to talk with Solarwinds Support, I think.
-
CourtesyIT, here's some info after the issue was resolved: Initial indications: NPM became very slow to respond. NTA displays were empty. I contacted my Server Administrator who found the NPM server was attempting to connect to a Solarwinds database server (not SQL) and was being refused. He found a process on that…

"Removed?" Yep. "Insane?" Nope. "Unexpected?" Absolutely! "Chrome work around?" Works perfectly. Actually, it works even better than the old version of NPM that allowed PDF creation. So although this is a surprise to folks who don't read the Release Notes prior to upgrading, it's actually a benefit when compared to some of…

Thankfully, our Security Team was tasked with the testing & distributing the results and required/recommended corrections. I don't recall receiving anything from about JAVA JRE, but that doesn't mean a concern wasn't found and corrected. Your best bet is to run a security scanner on the incoming systems before they are put…

I'm sorry, I have no helpful ideas for immediately fixing this. Your solution sounds as graceful as it can be. Unless someone else offers a solution, it's time to submit a Feature Request for this. I'll vote for it!

cmartin4255, I'd love to see the details (with screen shots?) of what you did and how you did it. Maybe if you could share it with us, many others would choose to do exactly what you did, and end up with an improved experience.

Hmmm. It's not as nice as I'd like. Plus, selecting All captures ports I don't want. But this DOES appear to be a way to get the job done, after a lot of judicious filtering & thoughtful clicking and "not-clicking". Thank you for the consideration. I'm hoping for a more intuitive and graceful solution, since this one still…

What method / syntax is used to join the two queries together? The output of the first query shows it's not valid in my environment. If you have a thought on the output, and what should be changed, I'd sure appreciate it! 2018-01-10 08:31:54,071 [84] ERROR SolarWinds.InformationService.DataProviders.SqlQueryRelation - SWQL…

It's always possible NPM is reporting a valid problem, as opposed to a false positive. First verify with TAC that there is NOT really a problem present. After that, you can spend time tweaking NPM to stop reporting a false positive.

I KNEW you'd have some cool alter-way-to-get-the-job-done! Nice advice!

Do you see what you need via the Endpoint View, after searching for your device's IP address>

I don't know a simpler way--but there certainly may be one! I defer to others' expertise when they show me better ways, but plod on through when I don't get useful input from Thwack. My way seems a bit low-tech--but it works!

It LEAKS? But it's METAL--how can it leak? I haven't used mine since it says it's not dishwasher safe, but it looks great. And hey, looks ARE everything, right? I can't believe it leaks! Somewhere in the body, or around the cap?

There are great automated failover solutions for your particular situation. Some probably simply need to be enabled / configured on your network and you'll be into a better world of reliability for your clients. Other solutions may require software upgrades or new licenses to enable the required feature sets on your…

It would work, but it wouldn't failover fast enough for my hospital grade network. For that we need an IGRP.

Do you find useful information in Admin > Alerts & Reports > Manage Alerts > Alert Manager or Action Manager? It's a start, and shows what alerts are enabled or disabled. I keep a Resource on NPM's front page called Last 25 Events that is helpful, but it's still not what I think you want . . . I bet we'd be closer in…
