Sure thing- check out page 171 of the WHD admin guide: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/WebHelpDesk/docs/WHDAdminGuide.pdf
-
You bet: Windows 2012, SQL 2012 and SolarWinds products

We implemented dynamic thresholds in 10.7, which calculate standard deviations on a 7-day sliding window. The dynamic value shows up as a macro, so you could potentially also use it elsewhere. Just go to edit an interface and you'll see the threshold override capability show up.
-
You could try to remove the template altogether- but it sounds like our support team should get involved.SolarWinds Customer Support - We're Here to Help

Here's some further documentation on SNMPv3 in ESXi 5.1: VMware vSphere 5.1
-
SAM ships with a couple sample HTML templates I believe. Some samples here as well: Alert Templates.zip
-
The SDK (and documentation) would be a good place to start: Orion SDK Not direct integration, but Alert Central (Alert Management - IT Alert Management Software | SolarWinds) can take in alerts / events from multiple sources.
-
You're absolutely right sir. With most objects "Triggering Object" will give you information you need to take action. However with objects such as Volumes that don't have descriptive names, you need the parent node context. We'll look at this with dev straight away.

This thread may be helpful:
-
Support ticket may be the best course of action, but upgrade to 10.7 may be advised as you would be able to map arbitrary OIDs for multi-CPU polling with "Manage Pollers" grid.
-

Jason, We certainly should be parsing data from that message, and many customers have configured syslog to take data from a forwarder (transparent or not) or to act as a forwarder. Perhaps a support ticket may be the quickest route to resolution here. http://www.solarwinds.com/support/

Here's an explanation of our discard metric collection: SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: I am seeing a high number of discards reported on one of my monitored devices within Orion. If we can confirm via SNMPwalk that the SNMP data is correct (well, at least present) then whether the device is reporting accurately is another…

We do have the ability to provide a count of rows in custom table resource: If you're using a custom table presently, you could duplicate the current dataset / conditions. Is this close to what you were looking for?
-
With the web-based reporting in 10.6 or later, you could create a custom table resource similar to:
-
It is more likely the multi-cast polling impacting performance then the event generation. It may not be a bad idea to engage support to take a look, but the below statement should disable the poller globally: DELETE FROM Pollers WHERE PollerType LIKE '%multicast%'
-
ICMP status polling is lower overhead, and faster response time. SNMP status polling would typically be used if ICMP is unavailable for a device.
-
It may be easiest to use the individual views and setup a browser plugin (EX: Revolver) to iterate through them.
-
This could be dependant upon your version of NPM, and the specific devices. What version are you running? Would it be possible to post SNMP walks of a couple of the devices that appear incorrect?
-
Fun project. The most obvious / useful integration I would think of would be using custom properties / spreadsheet and importing values.
-
CPU package (CpuPkgCount) would give you the number of CPUs presently installed- not the number of available sockets.
-
I'm afraid the answer is no for all of these. Although it really isn't intended to be supported, you *can* do some rudimentary custom field searching like this:…
-
The issue would very likely be related to the SSL error. Can you try the report with http, or fix the cert error? (Likely just need to import the trusted root.)
-
Apologies for the inconvenience sir- we definitely had a few functional misses on v1 of the web-based CPE, and we've been working to close the functionality gap subsequently. If you were interested, perhaps we could spend 30 minutes on a WebEx to look at how we using the tool? PM me if interested. In the interim, there is…
-
If you were to re-run the configuration wizard (Start->All Programs->SolarWinds Orion->Configuration and Auto Discovery) you can select a different DB and start from scratch.
-
Could you perhaps post a screenshot of your "Polling Engines" page? (under "Settings")
-
What version of NPM are you running? We regularly update sysoid DB, so we would want to verify with 11.5
-
Indeed, this is a known issue with VMWare's implementation of SNMPv3: Re: SNMPv3 with ESXi?
-
A simple COUNT statement would cover this no? Web-reporting also has a count aggregation function:
-
That is correct sir- it will automatically revert.
