Joe, Would you perhaps be able to send over a SNMPWalk from our tool? http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/3145/SolarWinds+SNMP+Walk%3A+A+new+tool+for+collecting+SNMP+MIB+walks Would be much obliged sir. rob.hock{at}solarwinds.com

The major consideration with affinity would be resource contention. Certainly nexus is preferable- but can your host handle a primary poller and DB server on the same box? IO on datastores will also be a major concern. VMWare best practices for SQL would be advisable read.

Check out how we handle token-based authentication: http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/2578/Use+CAC+Web+Authentication+with+Server+2008

We have KB prepped that may be useful: Implementing SNMPv3 in SolarWinds Products

In the 11.5 beta we introduce a new alert action "Change Custom Property." Potentially you could create a alert rule with node criteria that would change the CP. RC of 11.5 is likely very close, so stay tuned.
-
The driver for 11.0.1 was potential upgrade issues with SQL 2012 SP2. Not something we would be able to address with a HF.
-
Steve, This is not known issue, so a support ticket may be the way to go here: http://www.solarwinds.com/support/
-
Indeed, a known issue tracked internally as 346869. The only workaround at present is to use one custom time period per report.
-
Does not sound like a systemic issue. A support ticket may be the best path forward: SolarWinds Customer Support - We're Here to Help
-
Let's check and make sure the default IIS site is disabled and not set to start automatically. May even change the port binding for fun.
-
That's correct - volume run-out surfaces in NPM 12 (and SAM 6.2) betas
-
Unfortunately we can't provide precise date, but WPM RC is on the immediate horizon.
-
Certainly we've included additional bug fixes in RC. Were we looking for a specific issue?
-
Apologies sir - no certain what we are seeing here. Would you perhaps be able to provide some more details / screenshots?
-
Integration with 3rd-party ticketing systems could certainly be enhanced in the future, but we can't comment on specific plans or systems to be targeted. We do have our SDK available as well that is open to any vendor that wishes to integrate from their side. Because their are different levels of integration, could you…
-
That is correct. This feature was introduced in 10.0. There is no present way to enable the previous behavior.
-
Just for clarity, could you describe the environment a bit? (Information on network connectivity between the two machines and software firewalls in use would be particularly handy.)
-
Likely this is a result of us de-duplicating the nodes based on Hostname, MAC, or DNS name. To selectively turn off de-duplication, in c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SolarWinds.Orion.Discovery.Job.dll.config there are 3 keys: <add key="DisableMacDuplicateDetector" value="false" /> <add…
-
If anyone is interested in spending an hour next week walking through the new features- just let me know!
-
You bet! Would love your feedback if you get a chance to check out the beta.
-
Not out of the realm of possibility... We'll have to see what beta4 brings.....
-
Sure- you can change the label in Network Atlas to any number of variables. ${Status} or ${Rate} would be most common for UnDP. Hover-overs are also customizable. The Network Atlas admin guide has some further examples: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/orion/docs/OrionNetworkAtlasAdminGuide.pdf

If we're referring to the same resource, the Multi-UNDP chart still exists in 10.7:
-
Interface stats can certainly be displayed in chart format. Was this what you were looking to do?
-
Apologies for the delayed response- our documentation team is looking at the issue. We recently transferred to a new documentation publishing system, and we have seen some misplacing link.
-
If it helps inform your maintenance window- it will likely be a matter of a few weeks before 11.5.2 GA.
-
Interesting- we'll dig into it.
-
If you are running a recent version of NPM, you can visit Settings->Manage Pollers and create a new poller for CPU / Memory. Instead of using UnDP, the data will appear to be native. The poller can then be bulk applied to existing devices and will be automatically detected for newly discovered devices with matching sysoid.
-
We certainly do. Good catch. In the past 20hrs since it was reported, we've had our QA team test and validate the bug. Tracked internally as 337970. Custom charts are new functionality in 10.7, hence this is the first we've heard of it. While our dev team investigates, using a Custom Object Resource instead may be a good…

Believe we included IPv6 support in NPM starting with 10.2 awhile back. Here's a slightly dated post with status of other SolarWinds products: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/community/solarwinds-community/product-blog/blog/2012/06/07/current-state-of-ipv6-at-solarwinds
