Makes sense. Would it be possible to get some concrete examples of what everyone would like to see to make sure capture it? EX: "Show me all nodes that have an interface where description contains "Foo""

If you check out the new beta (NPM 12.0 BETA4 + QOE NOW AVAILABLE) Mandatory CPs make an appearance.
-
Unfortunately due to MS updates, this functionality is not available with 2008 or newer OS's. It is a known feature request to re-introduce for newer OSs
-
At present we do not have import failure stored in logs for troubleshooting. We did make some improvements in NPM 11 to include a hash column for change detection. We will look at this for the future.

We did introduce support for many Motorola WLC in 10.7. If we're not pulling data from RFS4000, if you could kindly send me a SNMPWalk (rob.hock{at}solarwinds.com) http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/3145/SolarWinds+SNMP+Walk%3A+A+new+tool+for+collecting+SNMP+MIB+walks

Dynamic calculation does exist in 10.7. Settings are defined in Settings->Polling Settings

Correct - Requirements for AWS and APE are the same as core platform requirements.

The ability to set status via SNMP vs. ICMP is included in our latest "What We're Working On" post: What are we working on after NPM 10.6

Point taken for having an offical admin template. Have you tried the community generated one: http://forums.dameware.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2347 ?

Helps if I read the full context. Thanks for correcting me Jiri.

Sure, you can report on "Custom Node Poller" and "Custom Interface Poller" types and put that data in a table (or multiple tables.)
-
We do have per-node alerting thresholds available under Edit Node:

Chris- curious, what group variables were we having issues with?
-
Have you seen the new "Manage Hardware Sensors" functionality in NPM 11.5?
-
Certainly not something that comes up a great deal, so very interested to hear everyone's reaction. What sort of data would you want to see first here?

Byron, Don't give up on us yet. Certainly it has been a few months since this topic was visited, and it is an obvious pain point for those on this thread that are hitting functional limitations. To echo Mav's previous comments, we can point at progress in converting our Win32 apps to the web, and continuing efforts to do…

In the 10.7 beta, we do have the ability under "Manage Pollers" to create pollers for CPU / Memory that map to the native data fields. These pollers are also used in discovery to scan for matching devices.

Check out the NPM v12 beta (NPM v12 Beta2 Now Available) v12 beta includes support for some new Cisco MIBs.

RC4 is GA, however the difference between RC3->RC4 is a non-functional (essentially text) change.
-
Have we seen the v12 beta? NPM 12.0 BETA4 + QOE NOW AVAILABLE
-
This makes absolute sense. We have other customers with street address information already loaded as well. Automatically mapping this is on the top of our minds for this resource.
-
No need. We just introduced desktop client in 11.5 RC.

Out of curiosity, do you use splunk today? If so, what for?
