 I think this is where the miscommunication is coming from..they have no idea what I am asking for when I ask for service name. This oracle database sits on a linux box anyway...so i knew it wouldnt be a windows service.

this makes sense...i do know that i have a very large number of the httpd instances running. When can we expect a fix for this? Alerting on unknown is not an option for me and the service is always "unknown". It's never been anything other than. 

hi, sorry, should have included that. its an snmp monitor for the httpd service.

I created a new app and a new http monitor with the search string like you said above but I am getting app down. The info says "Search string not found. HTTP 200. Request Succeeded" What exactly does that mean? I know the image is located on the page Thanks

 Hello, Thanks for your reply. I am not actually using the /3GB switch. I contacted supported a day ago and sent them my diags from the box. They seemed to think it was APM using all of the memory and causing this. I had not applied the APM SP1..so I did so. Crossing my fingers that I do not experience this again. Thanks
