We've implemented Silverpeak appliances for an SD-WAN pilot, and it's working beautifully. Being able to use multiple commodity pipes gives us abstraction and better protection. Coming from a network background, abstraction is the most magical to me.

It certainly is proving a negative! That was our initial takeaway and kind of what stalled the topic...
-
You're right - and that's perfectly okay if our users' expectations are in line with a self-service model. That doesn't always seem to be the case, however.

I applaud this initiative!

HPE suggested I poll the following OIDs on the 'new' MIB to check results. .1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.2 .1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.54 As a test, I compared the results on a 5406 (pre-Aruba) that correctly reports HH and one of our new Aruba-branded 5406 switches. Not that surprisingly, the results from both were the same…

One would think our DoD friends wouldn't see this type of graph in their normal workday, but who knows?

Solarwinds PD has the best casual Fridays ever.

"But depending on the incident and fallout, you may still be held responsible for following the contents of the document." Can you elaborate?
-
I think they did the math and realized that they make piles of cash with things as they are. Pragmatic, I'd say.

Even a better idea! Thanks, mikenai!

Yep, today's question is broken. Don't *not* use the specific wording on one of the choices. I want credit for this one, folks.

Great, great idea. I wonder if some reimagined version of the FSDB (used for 4.0+ versions of NTA) could be a candidate for housing this data. Data not changing a lot once put in place? Check. Separate from other NPM data? Check! Just saying.....I'm not a smart person like these SW devs so it might be a nonsensical idea,…

I cannot WAIT to get one of these....

Whoever's writing those b.r.a.d. messages on the successful answer results deserves a high-five. Funny and all too often accurate!
-
I'm guessing there'll at least be less sales calls about 'the cloud'.
-
So you're saying the napkins are INCLUDED? Booking my 18-hour, 15-stop bus ride now....this is gonna be great!
-
That's happened here before as well - I'm sorry to hear you have to deal with that. Reading your post, what is resonating more strongly than ever with is this - we're talking about SaaS in this case, but what these situations boil down to is a lack of timely communication and avenues for both the business and the IT side…
-
Oh, wow....LOL! "But that's how I get quotes to my customers!!" "By using a personal dropbox account tied to your Yahoo! email?" "......"

Here's hoping your return from holiday wasn't *too* traumatic, maria.bungau!

Eggs.

And let's not forget the 'proactive' sales and marketing teams that buy consumer Dropbox accounts...and then leave the company's proprietary and private data and designs just, you know, sitting out there. MMMMM...good times.
-
"I have met a lot of talented and technical folks in my travels but when it comes to documentation most of them run for the hills." Boy, and how....I often wonder why this is. Do some consider the tasks of labeling, accounting, and other admin tasks simply too tedious and too mundane? I get it - it's not always fun. If you…

What an awesome idea! Love it.

It's simultaneously funny and sad to see exactly how old this feature request is. Hello to Splunk and goodbye to LEM. It was nice knowing you - sort of.
-
This just in - based on initial results, I do not in fact possess the compliance knowledge to survive an audit.
-
Given today's mission question, it's frustrating that Aruba is STILL not supported. They're the second-biggest player in the market after Cisco, and I think the plethora of Solarwinds customers looking to integrate heat maps into NPM for Aruba infrastructure demonstrate the need to expand this support.
-
It's a good idea. Upvoted. While this doesn't directly address your concern, have you considered building a Netpath view to the Web resource in question? While not specifically a traceroute, the information it provides can be just as (if not more) useful for RCA isolation/tshooting.
-
Understood - thanks for the info. I hear ya!
-
This is happening to us, too - any further movement on the case, or was 'open a feature request' the only answer? Thanks for any info!

"The point is, allowing port 80 through the firewall in any direction (either from a group of your trusted users to the Internet or from the Internet to a server you have anything less that total ambivalence towards) is a sure-fire way of bad things happening." I'm not sure this statement is 100% accurate.
