I figured as much. I had one of those 'bright' ideas of how awesome it would be to take five views I've already built and customized and add them into a rotation without having to go to third-party stuff.

We're not doing so here. I'm curious as to what the consensus will be from other users. Is this a requirement for you?
-
Have you already enabled the SNMP feature in the phones' config file? That's a good place to start since the default is disabled.
-
I'm on the latest and greatest, but we're still experiencing this error. Did anyone in the thread ever get a permanent fix in place?
-
I'd second this....It'd be a much-welcomed expansion.
-
This is really strange - are you seeing that 'could not poll' message on the Node Details page for the device in question?
-
Bump...anyone?
-
I've noticed that since upgrading to 10.4, I get a 'Data Is Not Available' on my TopXX Endpoints graph when viewing a sFlow source node - but all of the other graphs display without issue. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Yes, you can install NTA as a standalone, as well as the backend FSDB. I'm not a FoE customer, so I can't address that - but I can bet it wouldn't work!

Are these separate infrastructures able to speak to a single VMAN virtual appliance? If so, you could monitor those with one VMAN box and integrate from there, I believe. If I've misunderstood your situation and goal, apologies.

Thank you both....got it. I had used the Account Limitation Builder before and I still couldn't remember how to get it done! I appreciate the assistance.

Leon, this is excellent stuff - thanks for sharing it.

Hi, Tim - while not a WHD owner, I've been using SAM for a few years now and the experience you describe accurately reflects my own upgrade experience. I haven't had any upgrades brick or go sideways - quite uneventful. Having said that, this is only my personal experience and some other responders may have a different…

Or, even crazier.....might there someday be a Solarwinds annual conference?

All nodes I'm testing with are Windows 2003/2008 boxes.

Bump for good measure - I also have a ticket opened with support for this issue. I'll post resolution if and when it comes to hopefully help someone else avoid this problem.

Start here and grab the MIB for those devices: Support | Software Downloads | Infrastructure Management | Avocent ACS 6000 Advanced Console Servers Next, use your favorite SNMP browser, load said MIB, and do a walk. Does it give you information about those ports? I know the 6000 can send SNMP traps on serial down/up, so…

I've seen something similar to this with VMware hosts. If you look at the 'Host Polling Status', you'll see that it's successful. In my case, I was using SNMP to poll the host independent of VMAN and encountered problems there. Do you have the host monitored under VMAN *and* NPM? If so, I would check the NPM polling…

This is an interesting idea - and one that I somehow never contemplated, even though all the control mechanisms are already there. I can see pushback from the Solarwinds side (and I understand that pushback), but there's an compelling set of capabilities that already exist. Since a lot of automation/orchestration on the…

Are these situations really specific to IT, or is more about the natural human reaction of someone wanting to protect their job? If I'm the Sharepoint guy/girl and someone else comes in with some packaged solution, it's not a huge leap to imagine said Sharepoint guy/girl will feel threatened from an value/employment…

Have you attempted to disable and re-enable VMAN integration? Also, are these assets monitored both via VMAN and NPM?

This thread's a couple of years old and references the 10.x build, but it may still apply. Web Console Sessions count Sohail.Bhamani, care to comment on this one?

Hi there - I'm attaching a file I used to successfully configure sFlow on some 2800-series switches with success. If you have questions, reach out - I faced the same pain as yourself!

To test this, I opened up our NTA summary page, typed the IP address of one of our external web proxies into the search field, searched by endpoint IP address, and gave it the last 24 hours as a timeframe. Looking at the Top XX Endpoints widget showed me the total ingress/egress BW for that IP address for the given…
