Yep, looks like it is retaining settings....thank you!

Gary, when you refer to the ability to monitor a single DB inside an instance with customization in the SQL template, do you mean by simply altering the initial catalog field, or something else? I'm working on drilling down to specific DB monitoring as well.

Hi there - Symptoms persist even when expanded.
-
I have, yes. Strange piece is that the queries don't always display incorrectly - most of the time they're normal. I'll watch until it shows the incorrect behavior again and will send a scrape of what it looks like. Thanks!
-
Thanks much - I'll verify and give it a try! Props to mesverrum!

Echoing this - either via custom connector or other method. One of our homebuilt services populates a custom event log, and I can look at said log using the realtime event monitor in NPM. However, what I really want to do is get this info to the LEM. This way, wherever said service exists I could simply install an agent,…

Have you test-fired email notifications? You can do this inside of Advanced Alerts Manager. This way you don't have to go around taking servers down to test email.
-
It's not - I just felt like being a complaining idiot. Thanks for the suggestion, tho!

Always, ALWAYS save your points! Never can tell when new trinkets will arrive!

Thanks, DanielleH!

That works wonderfully - thanks! Now, if I could only eliminate it from all NTA-derived views...

We would also have accepted 'feedthwack'.

All of my ICMP-only nodes show as unknown.

If these Cisco routers are under support, don't be afraid to reach out to Cisco TAC for help identifying the OIDs in question. They can help you isolate the correct information quickly.
-
Understood. Here's the part where I regrettably must mention MIBs and OIDs . Seriously, though - you've got some options for your first step. You can do a full SNMPwalk of (for example) one of the Cisco routers in the other offices, say office 3. Somewhere in the long list of results, there are likely going to be OIDs…
-
Ah, understood. So in this case, you're not able to get the VPN status information for all tunnels from router 3 (for example) by polling via SNMP?
-
That really stinks....sorry to hear of your trouble. Are you going to roll back?
-
Voted and linked!

For those interested, the feature request can be found here:

You seem an expert - did you run an Orion shop in a previous gig?
-
I think you're right re permissions, however - I can see an error in the SQL logs when setting up the monitor. My credentials must be lacking the appropriate permissions on some subset of the polling piece.

Thanks for your reply. 1. Version is Build #6.0.0.1805 2. I've attempted with admin-level SQL and Windows authentication with the same result. If need be, I can test with sa - but it's frowned upon in our environment. 3. Version being monitored is 2008 R2. 4. Yes, they are.
-
Agreed on the tech support piece....I'm grateful we don't have to reach out to them too often. It's painful and protracted. The only good luck I've had is getting on the phone and soldiering through wait times.

Have you seen what the output PDFs look like for PerfStack views when using native browser capabilities? It's really not usable. I'll send you an example if you want to see it, but suffice to say it's crazy-looking. Reversed text, jumbled text-on-text, etc. On occasion, the desired outcome is to share a well-rendered snap…
-
There's this thing called an attachment.... I get it, though....this post would lack some of the gravity without the mile o' text.

The funny thing is the original placement of that argument was on the suppression tab! It killed the reboot alerts - for everything. My custom property value was taken directly from drop-down input - that is to say, the prelisted populated values when building a condition based on a custom property. I didn't have to type…

To quote from the help info on my DPA instance: "If your domain users authenticate from a different domain than the one listed here (which is the original domain I configured), you must connect to the global catalog ports 3268 or 3269. The domain users must belong to a universal group, and that universal group must be…

dj_frankie - Who from Fortinet sent you this information? I ask because when I opened a ticket to troubleshoot this issue, I was running 5.0.3 and no one mentioned a thing about a known issue from Fortinet's side - we just ran packet captures, verified that we could see flows landing on our Solarwinds box on port 2055, and…
-
When you say you 'enable flow at another inside interface', do you mean on the Fortigate or some other box?

What is the method used to accomplish this in the latest version of SAM? The performance object referring to App Pools is no longer present. Thanks.
