Congratulations! I love that amp - one of the best reissues in a long while!

Happy birthday to Thwack! Big props to thegreateebzies, DanielleH, wabbott and the rest of the aforementioned crew that keep the wheels on and the sails up - thank you!

It's not overthinking - it's sloppy wording of the question. Let's make three of them match perfectly and one not quite so much? Come on. Lame.
-
Couldn't agree more - if it was less clunky, I'd be more inclined to furnish it as a self-service info repository for our helpdesk folks.
-
Completely agree. There's no specification that a certain set of somethings are a certain way.
-
This is part Tales from Tech Support and part Pettyrevenge! Brilliant.

DanielleH, pretty sure Q3 answer is not correct. Being an NCM user myself, I navigated to the correct destination and saw where to add a profile, made my choice, but was told it was incorrect. Thoughts?

This isn't the real world. It's a marketing initiative.

Done did it.

Come on, people....gimme some votes! This is driving me nuts....
-
Great writeup, adatole!
-
Additional huzzahs to DanielleH and maria.bungau indeed - thank you very much for your efforts on the community's behalf!
-
Happy to bear with you! I look forward to future content...

SD-WAN was the biggest, along with O365. SD-WAN has changed everything for us - improved availability, removed our dependency on MPLS, cut costs dramatically, etc. It's awesome.

Not to mention this 'flattening' will render any trending predictions you're trying to make inaccurate, with said inaccuracy growing the longer the period of inspection.

What is this, Reddit?

Late to this party and definitely not a DBA - I'm a infrastructure/sysadmin supergeneralist/versatilist, I guess. I managed to get DPA greenlit and purchased for our environment a couple of weeks ago (still not sure how I accomplished that), and consequently have been communicating a lot more with our devs, app architects,…

Great thought. I'll revive it at our next meeting!

We do. We implement sFlow internally and Netflow from managed routers. It's used for security, bandwidth planning and management, and other non-technological purposes such as HR. I've probably already shared this small anecdote, but here goes: it was my first week in the shop. I noticed on my first day we had zero…

I just realized this today - I can't easily graph/record these values. Upvoted.
-
zennifer, did you look at/demo any other solutions aside from Darktrace? We're in a similar process now. Thanks for any info!
-
'Socially unacceptable' - that's an evolving definition. Our generation's views will be laughed at long before we're dead - I think there's already a fair bit of snickering.
-
The SCP is easy to accomplish - spend some time with the product and you'll do well!
-
Happy New Year to all! Also, received my bobblehead today - THANK YOU!

It's not about extrapolation - this stuff isn't that deep. It's a gamification initiative to drive pageviews, engagement and sales. Let's just look at the question. Which of these four things match the capabilities based on this hint? Three match exactly, and one doesn't. Okay, fine. I'll choose the ones that match. That…

When you refer to the 'automation' part, do you mean SQL can be crafted to change the assigned Windows Credential for each node via this method? This would really help me personally, since I'm at a place where I've got a broken install - the website throws errors when I attempt to edit any WMI node, regardless of…
-
They're linking to it because the attack vector for the Fireeye hack was Solarwinds, I believe.
-
I'm kind of astounded that no official message - even just of acknowledgement - has been sent by Solarwinds to customers. Also, what rumors are you referring to? I haven't even seen an official list of affected products/versions. The article seems to indicate that something was piggybacked on update requests during a…

Did you ever get to the bottom of this problem, and if so can you share? We're in the same boat, and I'm three days in waiting on support. Mine throws this error every time I try to edit a WMI node. SNMP/ICMP work fine, it's just WMI.
