I found this quite interesting, I knew google designed a majority of their own hardware for internal use but I'm surprised that it found it's way out. But this story has spawned a good debate in the office about if cisco or hp should be concerned if google gets into the commercial hardware business (which we don't think…

Great news I think figured out whats stopping my scripting from working, it's the spaces in my path. I'm going to spend the morning trying to figure out how to get it to accept my path if no success by lunch i'll post in the scripting labs space to see if they have any suggestions.

good news! not totally fixed yet but we're making progress. I've got the script working locally on the server just not working via solarwinds now. I have rebooted the server, verified i am in local admin on server, and i can rdp into server so "access this computer from network" permissions should be set. Now that i…

So i spent most of the morning playing with the script you recommended and another one i found on thwack yesterday. I'm really starting to think it's something funky with the server itself. I've tried this script and keep getting this error: Testing on node '10.13.7.10' failed with 'Down' status ('Down' might be different…

Thanks Tom, that is clears it up

Do you have any recommendations on what i can use other than a wmi query? (I'm currently looking to see if there is a script in content exchange for this)
-
Thanks, I have a couple posts on some server websites for some additional help. Always had success posting here so just wanted to see if anyone else had a similar issue.
-
did you have any luck?
-
sorry i don't know how to do that but i'll play around with some of my reports. If i find anything I'll let you know.
-
yeah if you go into configuration terminal mode and enter "file prompt quiet" it will bypass all of the interaction

775535, He seems to think it's an IE setting which i'm not saying it's not but it's not happening in every instance in IE. Even in a citrix environment where the IE settings are the same for both users.

Terry, I do have the same issue in compatability mode, in private mode, IE 9 and IE 11. It appears to be only when for groups that I reference in Orion user management.

Hi cdepetro, Did you just adjust the credentials in the components inside of the template?
-
I apologize for this question but how translate the number to names? Edit for clarification: how did you translate the Power supply information (the 22, 470, 471) to names? i followed your links and did not see where they translate.

good to hear!

If i remember correctly it was a problem with an internal smtp server. Are you getting the exact code fail or is it just not working?
-
I actually did talk to support about this before, I was told since i am not able to run the query on the server directly it was a windows issue not a solarwinds. I have 5 servers this is occurring on. I'm beginning to believe there is some update or something missing from these particular servers but haven't quite been…

I recently made a monitor to monitor a printing service that showed up as svchost, we used a service account in this case svcengineer to set the appropriate permissions to access the information. EDIT: Here is the information from edit application menu: DescriptionLPD ServiceOverride Template Component Type:Service Status…

We have so few devices that are ping only i'm not sure if it effected our ICMP polling or not. If possible could you post a screenshot of what your seeing on the node details page? Maybe that will help drum up some ideas to help you move in the right direction.

lol crap, we're on NPM 11! oh well, I got a case open let's see what they can come up with.

Here is a screenshot of what i wanted to alert on. Sorry for all the black I had to remove anything that reference's our AD or AD structure.

It took some troubleshooting with support but we actually saw the time out on the sql server itself. From what i was told by support a good way to gauge is to check to see the size of config archive. If you are in your orion server and open up Database manager, expand down to see config management section and right click…
