  • I need a main map with sub maps to show a list of map name that are on the main map, how can I do that?
  • we really need this for our environment.
  • We tried some of that while working the service ticket, but I am in the middle of changing out all of my NetVPN circuits with AVPN, so I don't have much time to play with it yet. I will dig deeper into this article once i get some breathing time and post my findings here.
  • As a note, the OrionAdministratorGuide.pdf that i pull that from is dated May 29, 2009, 3:46:42 PM
  • I would not run them on a VM. I have that setup now. With the poller and web on one vm and the sql database on the other, it is slower that having all 3 on the same size hardware server. VMs just dont work that well for this type of app. or at least that is my experance.
  • OK, I stand corrected. If you unzip the 9.5 install, there is a documents folder. In that folder is a PDF nammed OrionAdministratorGruide.pdf, if you read it, there is a section that states that CLR is mandatory. The following is taken from Page 28 of the OrionAdministratorGuide.pdf: SQL Server The following database…
  • I am getting the same error above. I was getting it when i only had NPM installed. mine only shows up after a monthly report has been sent out to my upper management. But i am getting 2 events with the exact info above one says Event Type: Information and the other says Event Type: Error. But he reports still go out.
  • I know that there is nothing in the Release Notes about CLR being mandatory, but the upgrade to 9.5 is not mandatory. so why is everyone complaining? As with any other software, you never use the latests version unless you want to deal with the new problems. If you are not ready to deal with the problems related to the…
  • I found the same things when I upgraded friday. 1. I had to run the map import 4 times to get all of my maps into the new version. I also had to change all of my icons back to what they were. But i have found that if you have nested maps that are more than 2 layers deep, the main map show them as unknown status, so i have…
  • I would split them up. Currently have mine split to 2 VMs on an ESX server. one for Polling and Website, and the other for the SQL server. I would like to get 3 real servers to put them on. I currently have the following: 928 Elements 344 Nodes 584 interfaces It was recommended to split them up to separate servers by SW.…
  • no, you can report on it. I have a few reports based on custom pollers.
  • Have you tried applying 9.5 SP4 yet?
  • I did speak to Cisco about the routers. They can not see anything on the routers that would cause the flows to stop sending. Actually, we found that the flows never stop being sent from the routers, they are still being sent from the router, but NTA in blocking them. If I add the routers to Orion using the loopback…
  • You can add a custom interface property and mark the backup interfaces with Backup or something like that. Then you can filter from that.
  • What info do you get when you use DateTime?
  • Yes, i get more that just broadcasts. "ip route-cache flow" is for the layer 3 interfaces and "ip flow ingress" is for the layer 2 interfaces. Here is my template: ip flow-cache timeout active 1 ! mls aging fast time 8 threshold 127 mls aging normal 32 mls flow ip full no mls flow ipv6 mls nde sender version 7 ! interface…
  • No problem. :-)
  • I was, but it looks like it was a typo on my part. lol
  • It seems to be working fine without the HTML encoding on my account which has a 9 char password that contains a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special chars. I am using Orion 9.1 SP3.
  • you can set the filter group to any instead of all, and use: name of custom property = Primary name of custom property = Secondary then you can group the report by node name which will show both interfaces under that node. But i am not sure how you would get the total.
  • CLR Integration Code Access Security New: 5 December 2005 The common language runtime (CLR) supports a security model called code access security for managed code. In this model, permissions are granted to assemblies based on the identity of the code. For more information, see the "Code Access Security" section in the .NET…
  • I did, they told me that it was my routers not SolarWinds that was the problem.
  • On the Orion Server: click on Start>All Programs>SolarWinds Orion>Advanced Features>Monitor Polling Engines. When the box comes up: Click on Servers>Poller Load Balancing. Then just reassign the nodes to the other poller and you are done.
  • ok, open up UDP and run the MIB against a device and past the results of it here.
  • It will be one of those options now that you have the filter set up. I just dont have a monitored UPS to verify and send the correct config.
  • I just need the SNMP v3 settings of it.
  • SQL Server 2005 Books Online (November 2008)CLR Integration Security Updated: 5 December 2005 The security model of the Microsoft SQL Server integration with the Microsoft .NET Framework common language runtime (CLR) manages and secures access between different types of CLR and non-CLR objects running within SQL Server.…
  • I solved the pressure from upper management by getting a renewal quote from SW, then getting a quote from 4 3rd party venders and made sure that renewing with SW was the lower cost. Management didn't even bat an eye, they just paid it.
  • yep we can. There are some things that i can not say about the network as you can understand from a security standpoint but as away.
