How do people use the ${ComponentsWithProblems} and ${ComponentsWithStatus} variables? The APM documentation says that it returns comma delimited lists, but it isn't clear how to turn that into a useful email message. ${ComponentsWithProblems} as you've indicated, outputs a comma delimited list of components that play a…

I don't think you're missing anything since I'm seeing the same thing (assuming this is what you're referring to).

There's a new resource in NPM v10 called Multiple Universal Device Pollers Chart that will display a UnDP statistic from multiple nodes.
-
Based on their respective product pages, only NPM and NCM officially support Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008. NPM, the NPM modules (NTA, APM, VoIP) and NCM all support both 32-bit and 64-bit. It would make sense that the NPM modules follow the same system requirements and compatibilities as NPM but I wouldn't know.…

See if the suggestions in the following post offer any possible solutions. Negative WMI Counter Values

If you access the NTA Settings page, it'll show near the top right under the header for NetFlow Settings.

To be clear, CPU, memory and disk refer to information about the node and not the application, right? I'm able to create a report that looks something like you've requested. However, since the applications are associated with the node, they won't appear as columns in the report but instead as rows. Therefore, it'll look…

You're going to need to create a new report that is based on Historical - Interface Errors.

Wow, I really like this idea! Now updating targets for alerts would be a lot simpler. Along the same lines, I assume that you would be able to move and copy alerts between alert groups in case the alert applies to more then one group or responsibility of resources have been reassigned.
-
If you have or are familiar with APM templates, you can assign them to specific nodes. Therefore, when you access them, each APM application will report relevant statistics of the nodes to which they are assigned. No such relationship exists with reports since you don't assign them. As far as I know, reports live in a…

Just use Custom Property Editor to add a comments field. You'll probably then have to follow this up by modifying the AcknowledgeAlerts resource file to pop-up a window that prompts for a comment.

Can you post how your alert trigger is currently configured?
-
First, create your group (I'll refer to it as Routers in this response) and set the Status rollup mode to Show best status. With this setting, the group will only show as down when all of the members of the group are down. Then, copy the canned alert that you referenced and add a trigger condition that the name of the…

I don't know any more than you do but if I had to guess, I'd assume it's using the version located under the system32 folder. In that case, it would follow the "bit"ness of the OS, so if you're running on 64-bit, the PowerShell version using for APM would be 64-bit. Again, total guess on my part. As to your script, it ran…

Are you willing to share the vbscript and/or SQL script that you used to accomplish this by uploading it to the Content Exchange?

Short answer: No. Long answer: There is no built-in capability of Orion to suppress downstream devices since it really doesn't know how they are situated relative to each other. This has been a long-standing request to have Orion include some level of "intelligence" in this regard. SolarWinds has indicated it's on the…

After giving it some thought, I believe you are SOL. You can definitely create a custom interface view per user but I don't see any option to specify the default chart size, especially for a specific user.

That doesn't look familiar to me. Where exactly are you seeing isVMS?
-
Instead of an alert, have you considered creating a report that it e-mailed to you each day?
-
Are DFS successful and failed activities recorded in the Windows Event Log? If so, you should be use the Windows Event Monitor to create an applicaton template that can report on failures. Now, if you assign this template to all of the nodes that are part of the DFS system and place them in a group, will this provide the…

I'm pretty confident in saying that you could accomplish this using the Linux/Unix Script Monitor. My only concern would be how APM interprets the script output (current time) since it normally expects a numeric value.

Off the top of my head, I believe that the best solution for this would be the Custom HTML resource. I've created at least a couple of custom views based primarily on custom HTML resources. Granted, it's not as simple as point and click but it gets the job done. Let us know if you'd like some assistance with this.

I believe the following knowledge base article may answer your question: SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How many days of live data will the LEM database store?
-
You should be able to configure an alert for a UnDP transformation as you would for any other UnDP poller. With what part are you having trouble?
-
I'm a little confused by your question since NPM already comes with the Syslog Viewer and Trap Viewer. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?
-
Assuming you still have the Total Bytes Transferred by Interface - This Month report, couldn't you simply: * Open that report * Change the time frame * Change the Report Title * Perform a File > Save As This would probably be the easiest solution for this problem.
-
I believe you're referring to the Switch Port Mapper which is part of the SolarWinds Engineer's Toolset. It is not a feature of Orion NPM.
-
Perhaps I'm missing something here but couldn't you create an alert that triggers when a volume status becomes unknown? As part of the e-mail trigger action, simple include the ${NodeName} variable. If you don't need realtime notification of this, you could also create a scheduled daily report that is delivered to you via…

I may be wrong here but I thought the best way to test OWA would be to authenticate to it. The actual processing of e-mail isn't handled by OWA unless you're talking about the communication that occurs between OWA and the mailbox servers. Assuming authentication is all that's needed to test OWA, would the HTTP Form Login…

You didn't indicate which version of NPM you're running but my Min/Max/Average bps chart seems to include a legend towards the top. Are you simply asking to have the sample interval added to the chart, probably next to the time period listed near the top?
